@usacycling MTB natz stage race, we went out with a bang ( Literally ) Podiumed 4 races while mixing in afternoon shop demo events with the great folks of
@cardinal_bicycle & supporting the
@trinityracing_ u23 kiddos, who crushed it!
Monday XCM: few of us went out hard and got on a break, till I had to settle back and just ride my own race, I found myself alone in 3rd chasing, fighting my way through the other age groupers till about 1/2 way into the 40mile loop, both legs hit with lock up cramps, I underestimated my hydration and paid for it. So I spent over an hour riding through the leg cramps, until about 2 miles to go on the final climb, Vic rolled up and charged by to take 3rd, held onto 4th.
Wednesday XCC: downtown urban Short track was a blast, shaking out the heavy legs, 5 of us were on the gas seeing who would pop first, found myself 4th in the end.
Friday XCO eMTB & XC: P1 for eMTB, kept the streak going for a 3rd straight year!
10min later I was scheduled to jump into my 35+ masters XCO race until storms came in and delayed our start an hour.
Course was now nice and sloppy so I knew I had to get into the woods near the front, ended up 1st into the woods and hitting age group traffic instantly which made for an extra challenge, Corey and I got a gap and drilled it till 3/4 of the way he made a move to go harder, I sat back in 2nd chasing him down until the final 1/2 mile, I sent it a little to hard into the rock roll, cut a sidewall which smacked my wheel into the rocks and cracked my wheel. I quickly decided to run 1/2 mile up hill, but halfway up here comes Vic to take 2nd, i was able to still to secure a P3 in XCO masters.
Huge thanks to
@nicole_jenison for always being there and supporting me during each race,
@dave.richard87 for all the pro tips & everyone out there cheering 💯
@iamspecialized for the best equipment, my epic 8 with
@srammtb flight attendant was dialed! Till next year🫡
