A little over 10 years ago I told this nerdy curly haired queen I was going to marry her. My dad told me if I didn’t I was an idiot. She didn’t really believe me then, but I’ve never uttered truer words than in that moment. All those years later we legally tied the knot on March 27th at city hall accompanied by some of our favorite people. Shoutout to our officiants, videographer, and witnesses for being there.

POV: you ordered “just a light dessert” and now you’re fully committed 🍓 Fresh strawberries. Vanilla bean whipped cream. Crushed meringue. Dip. swipe. crunch. repeat. And then Mac hits you with the “delicious” at the end… yeah, same. Boston, this is your sign. 📍Seaport — Rocco’s @gotoroccos.bos

One year ago today in the wee hours of the morning I hugged my father one last time before his warm, now lifeless body made its way down the stairs of his apartment and into the transport to the morgue. He died of a rare blood cancer that morphed into another which his girlfriend had also eerily died of around 6 months prior. It all happened so fast. I had received a call from him on Halloween describing an immense pain he was in and asking me for painkillers (something he would never do). Then only a few months later he was gone. He lived life on his terms — one day at a time, in the now. He was always there for me and on his deathbed I returned the favor. I didn’t want to leave. I wanted him to stay, but he didn’t want to fight. So I spent every waking moment I could with him. I slept on the floor of his hospital room and we recounted old stories night after night. I recorded them so I’d never forget the sound of his voice, so that the grandchildren he’d never meet would know it, too. We eventually left the hospital after he decided it was his time. My father died where he wanted to: in his house, surrounded by his friends and family, enveloped in the love of those around him that he had loved so dearly. A stunning sunset, blissful sunrise, the changing of the leaves, sounds of the waves, within the pages of my favorite book or the smell of my morning coffee…it is in these moments, when I am still, that I feel his presence, that I feel closest to him. I love you.

One year of being married to my favorite noodle in the box, my best friend, and partner in couch potato crime. Hopefully this one doesn’t go by as fast as the last ❤️

There aren’t enough words to describe how much I want to thank our family and friends for traveling to Bordeaux for our big day, so instead I’ll share the ones I said to my wife on our wedding: “I promise to love you unconditionally, to strive to be as thoughtful and selfless as you are. I promise to never take you for granted, to cherish you, and show, not say, just how much I love you each and every day. I promise to make you smile as much as you make me smile and laugh as much as you make me laugh. I promise to one day sell all my sneakers and finally set up that damned automatic cat feeder (I did). I promise to take you to the beach as often as you like and get you the vitamin D you so desperately need. I promise to always hold your hand and keep you warm when you’re cold. I promise to never go to bed angry and only cry tears of joy. I promise to grow old and gray with you and to love you till you're wrinkly and pruned. I promise to support you, your dreams, and our future family of twins. I promise to be the sauce to your noodle forever. You're my person, my best friend, my noodle. I choose you now, chose you then, and you will continue to be my choice every day for the rest of my life.”

I’m so blessed and grateful to have such amazing, smart, talented, caring, and wild ass friends— excuse me —family. While I don’t always get a chance to hang I hope you all know that it will never change the way I feel about you. For all the homies that aren’t pictured, I’m clearly bad at taking photos, but you know the deal ❤️. Here’s a lil snippet of some of my favorite moments from this year. 🏂🃏🍻🤘🏽

Hey, long time listener longtime no poster here. As most of you who follow me know I never post to my feed anymore—time for a change. So many monumental moments in my life have occurred over this past year and I’d like to share and relive those moments with you all. So I archived all my posts and I’m starting fresh. Let’s see if I can keep these New Years’ Resolutions—to post more and eat less French fries 🍟! One might be easier than the other 👀.
