Look what finally arrived!!

“Tracing the Line” by @vetroeditions and @generative.hut is a new book all about pen plot artists. This beautiful hardcover collection features work by 100 different plotter artists, including myself! Bonus points for the augmented reality feature! (Check out last slide.) If you enjoy my work and the work of my fellow plotter artists, be sure to pick up a copy!

My birthday sale starts today! All plots are 20-50% off. I’ll be revising my site after this and discontinuing some older work. So if you’ve had your eyes on something, now’s a great time to get it. Thanks again for following me on this creative journey, and welcome to all my new followers! 🖤🥳

Genuary 12: boxes only
.
I struggled with this one a bit. Sometimes the simpler prompts are more difficult because they are more open ended. I also had more trouble vectorizing this one than some of my previous WEBGL stuff.
Genuary 10: polar coordinates
.
Kept it kinda simple with this one, adapting my subdividing algorithm for polar coordinates. I’d definitely like to expand more on this program in the future by adding other tiles.
Genuary 8: generative metropolis
.
I’ve been wanting to try something like this for a while now. I wanted to go with a more organic feel and since plotters aren’t very good for shading or really pencil work at all, I figured I’d try hand shading a plot. To add to the effect, I used bitmap trace on the image to get more of a freehand drawn feel to the plot lines. Overall this was a good test run and a method I’m gonna explore and refine in the future.
Genuary 7: Boolean algebra
.
I was originally gonna do something with logic gates diagrams but the results weren’t very interesting, so I landed on a sort of chip design program.
.
I’ll be honest, it’s been very difficult for me to want to make art lately. I’m physically and emotionally exhausted, which all feels intentional. They want our voices and expression suppressed. But I’m going to follow through with Genuary, even if it takes the next few months, because I told myself I would. Because I committed to it internally. But I’m not ok. And know that every hour I spend working on new art is in protest of this regime.
Genuary 3: Fibonacci forever
.
I wasn’t a big fan of this prompt. Mostly because I was trying really hard NOT to end up with some spiral-based work. But it turned out to be a good example of how an error in code can lead to some surprising results. The Fibonacci sequence is used in the piece, even if not in the way I originally intended. 🖤
Genuary 1: one color, one shape
.
I know I’m starting late, but I haven’t released any new work in a few months now, so I’m trying to get back into it. Bear with me, it’s been a difficult year. 🖤
