Music at Co-Cath is now auditioning singers for our performance series, as well as substitute singers for weekly liturgies. While we currently have limited openings (altos, tenors, and basses), we welcome submissions from all voice types as we continue growing our roster of artists across NYC. We are seeking singers who are excellent readers, stylistically versatile, and comfortable performing across multiple vocal approaches, including bel canto, straight tone, and belting. Ideal candidates bring a strong work ethic, thorough preparation, reliability, and a warm, collaborative spirit. Deadline: May 25 Auditions will be scheduled on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged. Compensation: Payment can range from $1300 - $1450 per production, and $100 per call for Mass. Application: Link in bio #MACC #brooklyn #auditions #choir #singer

Opening night. Some nights resist description. Inside the cathedral, light, shadow, and sound turned the space into something almost ritualistic. Voices moving through ancient words — grief, forgiveness, mercy — that have echoed across centuries. In Seven Last Words from the Cross, James MacMillan transforms the Passion into a raw, contemporary cry — music that confronts suffering with almost unbearable intensity. And in To the Hands, Caroline Shaw reframes a 17th-century text to speak directly to our own moment — turning devotion into a reflection on violence, responsibility, and compassion. Two works. Four centuries apart. Both asking the same question: What do we do with human suffering? Standing inside that sound with the MACC Ensemble and our extraordinary musicians was simply indescribable. Grateful to everyone who shared this night with us. #OpeningNight #MACCEnsemble #MusicAtCoCath #SevenLastWords #JamesMacMillan #CarolineShaw #ToTheHands #ChoralMusic #SacredMusic #BrooklynArts #LivePerformance #ContemporaryChoral #CathedralConcert #ChoralArt #NYCArts #BrooklynMusic #ClassicalMusic #PassionMusic #ConcertNight #SacredArt
