JUNE NEWSLETTER - Welcome to the new and improved MA Casting Newsletter!
I am so delighted to be launching this newsletter. When I was a young artist, I yearned for a central place to find artistic opportunities, but they were few and far between. Over the years, I grew tired of looking for a place that spoke to me and decided if I couldn’t find it, I would create it. Hence, I founded MA Casting (aka Muslim Casting). I created what I wanted to see in the world and I hope its what you want to see as well.
Therefore, this newsletter is a space to consolidate our latest casting notices, funding opportunities, and a way for you to speak to us directly. In fact, we have launched two new initiatives:
MA Casting+: A $5 monthly membership where you will receive an extended version of this newsletter with additional casting and funding opportunities, along with member-only webinars and exclusive invites. LINK IN BIO
Creative Consulting Office Hours: If you have a project, resume, reel, or script that needs help, we’d love to provide direction. Think of us as your “Creative Doulas”—we will guide you through the creative process until your idea is fully formed and ready for the world. You can now BOOK a 30-min creative consult. LINK IN BIO.
We hope this helps you along your creative journey! And lastly, we would also like to extend our solidarity to all of the WGA strikers, we are with you at this time!

“I have been listening to NPR since I was a tiny child. At a time when media was limited and we couldn't afford cable, my immigrant father relied on talk radio to get news from around the nation and world—desperate for any mention of his home country.
I remember so vividly, standing up in the passenger seat of his car—windows rolled down, cigarette smoke tickling our nostrils, while the summer heat would cling to our skin—listening to the soothing voices of NPR hosts swirl in and out of earshot—exposing us to new perspectives of a world that seemed so large at the time. They were inspiring, moving, and heartfelt.
Earlier this week, I had the honor and privilege to sit down with wonderful Juana Summers for a segment on All Things Considered (All Things Considered) to discuss the launch of my company's latest joint initiative with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media (Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media) and Pillars Fund (Pillars Fund), the Muslim Women's On-Screen Portrayal Test.
What an incredible moment, thank you to the entire NPR team!” -Serena
