I had the opportunity yesterday to donate stem cells through the National Marrow Donation program and Gift of Life at their building in Boca Raton.
The people with GOL and the NMDP did a wonderful job prepping me for the donation and keeping it a safe and fun affair. The gift of life staff were genuinely the best hype men you’d hope for in that situation.
Big shout out to @amincpls123 for being the GOAT when it came to finding places to eat, man somehow found us a hole in the wall ramen place with pristine food and vibes. The Italian place he found was also crazy good that lasagna lives rent free in my head.
It was an honor and once in a lifetime opportunity I’d recommend to anyone who’s able bodied and given the chance. If you have the opportunity to sign up for the National registry please do because you could be the match for someone in need of a life saving procedure.
