Every year I promise myself I won’t post anything cheesy about this day… and yet somehow it arrives and I can’t help but express how deeply grateful I feel.
I’ve dreamed of becoming a mother almost since the very moment I started taking ballet classes (swipe to the second photo and you’ll understand what I mean).
Today is a day to celebrate. Motherhood is such a privilege, overwhelming, humbling, vulnerable, demanding, joyful and tender… somehow all at once 🤍
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who, like me, dreamed of this. To those planning for it. To the ones who have been trying and haven’t gotten there yet, don’t give up. To the mothers at heart, because motherhood exists in many forms.
And to my mom and my mother-in-law, two women I admire deeply 🤍
• Staying hydrated
For some reason, I’m just not one of those people who naturally drink water throughout the day. I literally have to set reminders, otherwise I’d go with my day and turn into a raisin.
• Not comparing myself to others
Ballet (and life) are so different for each of us. Experiences, “success”, and highlights don’t look the same for everyone, they unfold in their own time for each of us. We all have something different and unique to offer to this art form.
• Taking a real day off when I truly need it, no guilt.
No Pilates, no stretching, no ballet class…nothing.
Just letting my body rest, enjoying a good meal, a little treat and whatever fills my cup.
What would be on your list?
