Before and after!
What an incredible transformation for Jayson Hammond, who individually raised over $1000 for the Cancer Council SA by volunteering to shave his hair and beard last night.
What a glow he has about him now, and very well deserved. ๐๐
A huge round of applause to all of our feature race competitors who have presented their starting donations and will be gridding up for our Cancer Council Cup races this afternoon. ๐๐๐
Remember - donations against these riders names = a deduction from their finish time, so even if they finish last, they could still win! No-one will know the results until our presentations later today.
To donate towards a rider in the cup races, head to the canteen, bar or office. Donations will be accepted until the beginning of the cup races.
Online donations and raffle ticket sales have now closed.
@cancercouncil_sa
The fundraising that we do for the @cancercouncil_sa is really just the cherry on top of what this weekend means to us.
We want you to have conversations, and we want Mac Park to be a safe space for you to have them.
Talk about your experiences, ask your mates about theirs. Honour your loved ones - those that have passed and those that are still with us. Ask questions.
Encourage your friends to participate in screening. Help them to rationalise any fears they have around it. If it's something them, or you, have been avoiding - set a goal together.
If this weekend encourages even one person to book an appointment, check in with a mate, or take their health more seriously, then it means more to us than any dollar figure ever could.
Mac Park's Greatest Shave is a concept we introduced last year, taking place at the traditional Saturday evening dinner, and contributing over $7k to our overall fundraising tally for 2025.
While we didn't formally plan for a Greatest Shave this year, that hasn't stopped people like Jayson Hammond from bravely putting their hand up to do it.
Jayson has stepped up with a donation and a promise to lose the beard TONIGHT - and IF we can help him achieve his secret donation goal, he will lose his hair as well! ๐๐
If you would like to contribute a donation specifically to Jayson's greatest shave, please send us a message, or see Lana in the office.

In this race, riders nominate to participate, and friends/fans/spectators can make a donation in the name of their chosen rider, right up until the race begins after lunch on Sunday.
Each rider's total donation equates to a deduction from their finish time - in other words, you could finish last and still win first place! Donations are anonymous, and the total is not revealed until the end of event presentations.
