C’est Etty Hillesum.
A 27 ans, animée par un profond désir de vivre, Etty se lance dans un voyage spirituel et émotionnel qu’elle racontera dans son journal, publié après la guerre. Elle y consignera ses peurs, ses espoirs, son éveil spirituel et surtout son désir et son amour pour Julius Spier, son psychanalyste, dont la rencontre changera sa vie.
Tournée dans une Amsterdam contemporaine, la série propose un dialogue passionnant entre passé et modernité, nous révélant combien le combat et la quête de sens d’Etty résonnent encore aujourd’hui. ETTY nous pose cette question intemporelle : comment trouve-t-on l’espoir dans un monde désespéré ?

At the age of 27, driven by a profound desire for life, Etty embarks on a spiritual and emotional journey, all chronicled in her diaries, published after the war. In them, she captures her fears and hopes, her spiritual awakening and, above all, her desire and love for Julius Spier, her therapist, whose encounter with her will change her life.
Filmed in modern-day Amsterdam, the series offers a fascinating dialogue between past and present, revealing how Etty’s struggles and strive for meaning resonate today, and evoking the timely question: how do we find hope in a hopeless world ?
