This scarf pays tribute to the ‘Printing Revolution’ (1950–1990), a period during which printing and reproduction technologies profoundly transformed graphic practices.
Inspired by the aesthetics of the offices and machines of that era
(laser, photocopying, Riso, etc.), the visual design features technical diagrams and references to pioneers of digital printing, such as Gary Starkweather, the creator of the first laser printer, as well as references to iconic machines such as the IBM 3800 and the Xerox 9700.
The project celebrates the engineers and machines that shaped contemporary visual culture, often overshadowed by traditional accounts of the history of printing.
