The cutthroat trout were plentiful along the secluded pools of the Akolkolex during the fall transition this year. This camp with Michael came together quickly with some light gear preparation after closing up shop and a familiar stop at Southside Market.
While I find it difficult to imagine how quickly this year has come and gone, moments like these, in absolute nature, serve as yet another reminder to myself to enjoy the process in its entirety. Taking up the art of fly fishing has given me back time where I had thought none was left. The simple act of wading up and down a river without pushing any athletic boundaries — that’s for the soul. A familiar feeling even as an adult, like a day of random childhood exploration along the river banks back in the day.
