Out now… and here’s a little behind-the-scenes story.
The Cannonballs and Cinellis first met at the 2023 European Blues Challenge in Chorzów—both competing, one for Switzerland, one for the UK.
During the day we would throw playful insults at each other.
During the night: chaos at the hotel with @softcitymusic and other bands from all over Europe.
Still wondering… does anyone remember what the lobby lady was yelling at us in Polish on that last night?
From there, we stayed close—crossing paths at festivals, showing up at each other’s gigs, and throwing the occasional backstage party. At some point we thought: we should write a party song together.
Fast forward to last year—while the Cinellis were helping Mad with UK visas and Freddie was also temporarily based in London, we first went for some jacket potatoes and the set up a studio session. That turned out to be the perfect moment.
It all started with a guitar riff Mad had in mind.
The lyrics? Let’s just say… we didn’t overthink them 😄
And that’s how “Dancing Shoes” was born.
We’ll be shooting the video this 23rd of May at the Baden Festival—
