Great quick look behind the scenes on the filming of "La légende du roi Arthur" musical in Paris, France. (Legend of King Arthur) So proud and honored to be part of the talented team to help capture this amazing spectacle in stunning 3D. I worked as the steadicam operator and talked a bit about the equipment in the video. We used a Screenplane "Steady-flex" 3D beamsplitter rig, ARRI Alexa Mini cameras and Leica summilux lenses. This actually marked the first time that the ARRI Mini's had been used in 3D(at that time). The unique design of the steadyflex rig makes it work really well for steadicam. It is extremely compact and it allows me to run it in "over mode" which minimizes any counterweight and even allows for a dynamic balance on the rig. The result is the camera operator having much more freedom to move, compose and create. The "La légende du roi Arthur" musical was performed in the Palais des Congres in Paris, France. Beautiful choreographed and directed by Giuliano Peparini, featuring stunning wardrobe and art direction it is indeed a spectacle worthy of such a high tech and beautiful capture by the 3D film crew. Here is the dress rehearsal I filmed on my iPhone as we were working out the movement and timing compared to the final shot. As this is just the beginning of a long single video concept the timing was critical I had timecode marked on tape on the floor I had to hit a just the right moments. To do this I memorized the song/lyrics and was counting bars of the song out in my head as I moved to make sure I was in the right place at the right time. This is why the rehearsal I filmed the day before on my cell phone pretty much matches the final shot we did the next day. Well there goes the rest of my race season…. Crazy to think such a silly tip over has me having to have surgery on Friday! I’m so bummed I was really looking forward to the @so.cal_mc Hare and hound. Turns out it wasn’t just a simple sprain, it was dislocated and the corner of my joint fractured off! Bad enough where my bones won’t stay in place. Also probably shouldn’t have waited 1 week to see the Doc. Im doing surgery called “Volar plate arthroplasty”. Basically they going to run a safety wire around my volar plate ligaments to shove them in where the bone used to be and that will hold my finger joint in place. I guess sometimes you have to pay to play…. Hopefully it doesn’t keep me off the bike for too long. Another great weekend of racing with my family and Giselle got another 1st place finish! 5 kids in her class this time! The peewee course was much longer and much harder, I was blown away how well she rode got the thdrocky steep downhill and the tough sandy uphill sections. I’m so proud my girl. Getting better with every race. My race went great until I fell as I was exiting the pits and starting loop2 ….my finger got tweaked and sadly I decided to end my race. Still had a great time racing w my friend. 🎥🏁🎬

Last weekend Giselle surprised us by telling us that she wanted to race her bike…. This weekend she blew our minds by not only actually going thru with it but wining her class at a AMA National Hare and hound desert race ! So proud of her courage and desire to get out there in the world and brave her own way. It was an unforgettable day with a podium interview and her first podium champagne celebration!! Early Christmas here at the house, followed by a historic day. My daughter first day on a motorcycle. I didn’t see this coming, she just learned to ride her bicycle this summer a few months ago… I swear I didn’t put it in her head. Maybe she just got tired of seeing her friend Leah ripping around the campground …but after our last camping trip it was all she was talking about….. naturally at that point I knew what I had to do. It a day full of emotions seeing her be intimidated by the challenge, struggle thru her fear but slowly gain confidence and start to get more confident on the bike. It was quite a moment to see her twist the throttle, throw some roost at me and speed away, I was so proud of her……Merry Christmas !!
