The studio held another successful fall summit at the Phelps Hotel in Big Springs over labor day weekend. Long walks, talks with the spring, and the opening of college football season at the Big Springs Saloon.

Next Friday we will be hosting artist group M12 Studio for a book launch and listening session of their latest work “Landlines: San Luis Valley” The LANDLINES Initiative documents 18 contributions from artists, scholars, poets, scientists, and musicians interpreting and reflecting on the spatial dynamics of the San Luis Valley. Thank you @jkos13 for hosting us at the world premiere of In Her Bones. In Her Bones explores the complicated legacy of crypto-Judaism in the San Luis Valley. Jessica Kahkoska contributed a series of plays to M12’s LANDLINES publication about Motherhood in Creede, Colorado. Go see In Her Bones at the Fine Arts Center in Colorado Springs. February 13–March 2, 2025.

Thanks to everyone who came out for the opening of the A&M building, talks at the Big Springs Public Library and PASTURE exhibits. Just four more days until we open our humble bookshop and exhibition space at the M12 Studio Archives and Mercantile Building in Big Springs! Opening day celebration will feature bison cook out, a new Black Hornet racer, and the inaugural exhibits of Wright Morris: Another View and Blackbear Bosin: Wolf Creek.
