M.Y journey  As wanky as it sounds I'd always wanted to be a graphic designer, forever with a pencil in hand and A*s (not even a thing any more 👵🏻) in art, media and graphic design it was clear I was more creative, than book smart. Graduating university with a 1st class honours was incredible but I had so much to learn, working at my first agency taught me to work with clients closely, take a brief understand their business goals and to deliver creative that isn't just about me and my ego. Revolution bars were an exciting client to work for too and the creative was interesting and wild at times!  But I couldn't work on bar flyers all my career, I wanted a new challenge and found that at Absolute. This agency shaped the creative I am now, I worked on a wide array of projects each one pushing me further out of my comfort zone, here I was part of a team that won awards for their creativity and being able to lead those projects taught me how to craft and idea, and how to work with other talented people to get you there. There were so many lessons here but after 8 years I needed a fresh perspective and to work on projects that got me excited again.  Heading to Manchester my eyes were opened to how to lead a team of talented people, work in a new way and to see how an agency business can operate successfully. After a time I felt it was the moment to leap and do the thing I knew I was always heading for which was to prove to myself I can be my own boss. I've had the joy of working with amazing people each with their own story, successes and brand problems. Getting under the skin of who they are and why they out of bed in the morning, to develop a brand that feels truly distinctive to them - and owning more space in the market because of it.  I've created work I'm really and truly proud of during my 18 months in business and I'm looking to help even more business owners and teams who have lost their identity, perhaps started to copy what the big boys are doing and need a boost getting themselves back on track again. Sounds like you? DM JOURNEY and we can chat about yours

We're are @northerndesignfestival tomorrow to talk about the rules and (how to break them) of running a studio 🎺 We can't wait to speak to our guest panelists to understand what's changed in the business of design, why education doesn't set us up to create a business in design and how real studio owners live and breathe it all. Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and new ones in the audience too!

Fuck the ego 🎺 Desperate to start getting my face out there and starting to build the trumpet brand. You see a faceless entity won't get you too far. People buy people. Nearly all of our business comes via recommendation. We're nice people. And we don't take ourselves too seriously. So expect a little more rough around the edges while I create some more silly little videos along the way. You've got to start somewhere but at least we've made a start. Inspired by @creativeboom /@katylcowan and your permission vid 🤩

🎶 Finding the Note for Elix Air We’ve recently wrapped up our brand phase for Elix Air. And we’re so excited to show you the final brand once it’s rolled out. There’s a lot that goes into our brand process. The team had already been through the Tune In phase with us, so the exploration stage is about finding the right note to develop further. Why it works: 🔴 We don’t have as much waste in the project. We get to the visual point quicker without spending weeks on a big brand reveal 🔴 Elix Air got to have their visual input in at a stage where collaboration is key 🔴 The brand going forward is idea-centric and wedded in strategy 🔴 We know exactly what needs to be done at the concept stage

🎺 Brands we're resonating with This month has been a total awakening. Getting a puppy, man. How foolishly underprepared we were. George is a great dog, but we were under a completely false sense of reality that life would carry on as before. And the minute we decided to get him, we were bombarded with content on insurance, clothing, kit, and food. It's a heavily saturated market. One wall of our local Pets at Home is dedicated to food alone. We trialled Nature's Menu and Pooch & Mutt. Both great — both making us realise we were probably spending as much on George as ourselves. It was Clare who found @tails.com_uk And it's been a true winner. Why Tails.com resonates with us: 🐾 The tailored onboarding: personalised plan built around George specifically 🐾 The graphics that show exactly where we are in the journey 🐾 The comms after we ordered: warm, helpful, perfectly timed 🐾 The simplicity of knowing his food arrives exactly when we need it 🐾 The packaging: bright, bold, and beautiful 🐾 The guides on introducing the food gradually into his diet George loves it too. Which is always a bonus. 😎 As a designer, it's easy to notice when something looks great. But as a customer, it's every single brand touchpoint that makes the real difference in a crowded category. That's what brings true resonance.

🎺 From concept to challenger brand When the Adora team came to us, they wanted to own their space in the sustainable cleaning world. The category had some strong players. But when we dug into the strategy, something interesting surfaced. Most cleaning brands lean on the same tired scent territory: citrus, pine, and clinical freshness. Nothing that felt considered, modern, or at home in a lifestyle brand. Adora could own that space. So we repositioned them away from the cleaning aisle entirely and into the world of home and lifestyle and built around scent and beauty as much as how it actually cleans. This gap became the foundation for our thinking. That shift shaped everything, from the name and identity through to packaging and tone. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn't without its challenges. A name change mid-process, production complexities, packaging & scent decisions made in real time. The kind of project that keeps you honest. Since launching in August 2025, Adora has grown consistently month-on-month. We're still working together, as a true brand partner, expanding the brand, marketing, and product range. It's a partnership that's been genuinely close to our hearts. And we’re so proud to be part of their journey. Content:@capturecreativeuk

🟣🫧 Luxe Good As part of the new brand refresh, Car Finance 247 approached us to redesign their car detailing kit. A six step system built for everyone from the weekend enthusiast to the first time cleaner, making it easier to pick up the kit and clean your car. Our job was to better package their system, giving a feel of a premium product as well as closely linking to the car finance 247 brand. Delivering Luxe Good.

🎺 We’ve been shortlisted! The UK StartUp Awards nominations are out and we are in and amongst the Creative StartUp of the Year for the North West. We’re mad chuffed with the news and are looking forward to hearing if we move into the UK finals in June As a small team the ability to get recognised is a signal we’re moving in the right direction, which when the madness of running your own business can feel overwhelming it’s great to have the reminder we’re doing something right!
