A 48hr micro-film challenge presented by The White Rose Film Festival. 48 hours, an action, a line of dialogue, a prop and the word "Rose" or "White" in the title, no longer than 5min.
Elliott and I shot this in an hour after a 10hr day at work, one single take, shot on my phone, completely improvised dialogue, edited between 00:00 - 05:30am and submitted that morning.

Had the absolute honour of working with the teams at Guys & St. Thomas, TOAST Collective, King's Health Partners, Youth Empowerment Skills and Diabetes UK on some educational short films to help under 25s learn to cope and deal with the highs and lows, (pun intended), of type 1 diabetes.

Fewer than 1 in 10 diabetics have type 1 and though it often appears in childhood or late adulthood, it can trigger at any time and is very often not due to an unhealthy lifestyle.
T1D is controlled by insulin and without it, diabetics will die. Type 1 diabetics are essentially on life support at all times. The slightest mistake can mean catastrophic implications, and the education of diabetics is so important. The team here have helped me not only understand this chronic disease personally but have also allowed me to live a relatively normal life on top, so I jumped at the chance to help others in my situation.

The slightest changes can affect blood glucose levels, from heat to stress, from exercise to sleep, not just carbohydrates and sugars. So, if you know a diabetic, ask them what to do if they ever need assistance because sometimes it's impossible to fix issues themselves or articulate what is needed in the moment of a hypo or serious hyperglycaemic attack, and you might just save their life.
