1. IT’S ME
London, 2025
48x39xd14 cm
A lamp crowned with a plasticine head, pierced with green spikes and adorned with the Lyu’s own earrings - a self-portrait in disguise? A body, an object, a light source, it stages identity as something assembled, illuminated, and gently unprotected.
2. COLLECT YOURSELF!
London, 2026
42xd16 cm
Reassembled from broken ceramic shards, the vase holds together through visible repair. Fracture becomes structure, and restoration becomes new form - a fragile container shaped by interruption, persistence, and the ongoing effort to remain whole. In Russia, they say broken glass can bring happiness - could this one?
3. CARRY ON
London, 2026
33x52x24 cm
A small suitcase covered in international power adapters - movable monument to constant adjustment. Designed for motion, it’s weighed down by the need to connect and convert, turning the suitcase into a portable infrastructure where belonging is not fixed, but continuously negotiated.
4. ANXIOUS CHAIR
London, 2025
46x80x40 cm
Wrapped in layers of crocheted yarn and scattered with smiling faces, the chair becomes a soft archive of restlessness. Each stitch records a moment of unease, turning anxiety into shelter - a domestic object slowly remade through repetition, touch, and the quiet labour of self-soothing.
