Want to hear something crazy!? Tomorrow, on Thanksgiving I will have been employed by UNMH for a quarter of a century, 25 years, more than half my life! Not only at UNMH but at the same little slice of paradise, Young Children’s Health Center! There’s so many people who I’ve had with me for 10-15 plus years who also share such a deep rooted love for this community and work. I couldn’t be any more thankful! This year has been especially challenging both for me and the clinic. One thing that has remained true is, walking through those doors there is a sense of passion, commitment and a deep drive to do good. I wouldn’t mind another 25 here! UNMH/YCHC you’ve given me and my family so much, we are thankful! 🖤
These are the days. Some of my fondest life memories are traveling with my family and cousins as a child, what a gift to give those same experiences to our children! A time was had in Vegas! Positive core memories are priceless. Till the next adventure đź–¤
I can’t believe I’m sitting in front of a computer screen with a deadline for the last time. It’s surreal. Tomorrow I have the honor of defending what I have worked on for the past couple of years. I’m not a regular taekwondo mom, I’m a cool Mama! This week was buddy week at @blackmancma and guess who got talked into being Journey’s buddy! Yup, this taekwondo Mama took the mat!! I got a good stretch and warm up in, probably pushed my splits a little too much (ask me tomorrow!), was a little too confident in jump kicks but didn’t break/roll or snap anything (thank you Master Dylan for the advice!) then learned 3 different kick defenses (thank you Journey, you were a great instructor!). I got to air strike Journey and sweep him down too! Most of all I got to appreciate the art that I watch from the bleachers even more and have a blast with Journey and the rest of the students! Star Wars land or whatever it was specifically called was amazing! I’ve never even seen a Star Wars movie and I loved it! It was probably our fave! We hit this area at night so it made it feel even cooler. The ride was amazing! Then we went and had drinks at the Cantina, which I guess is a thing?! Anyhow it was outstanding and the boys were fascinated! 🖤
