What happens when two giants of northern educational centres come together?
Award winning designs with these results.
Since the end of last year, I worked alongside Durham University students from
@ducfsthread to assist in designing their fashion magazine as Magazine Image Executive. They have raised over £1m for charity during their run over the years with their fashion shows.
I closely conspired with my Typographic Layout Executive
@hay.mclean to make sure everything was just right. I provided photoshopped imagery for the contents page, illustrations, vectoring and font choices, while she took care of ensuring that the type and layouts were just right.
Safe to say, she utterly smashed it, and was a joy to work with, as we hammered through around EIGHTY pages of content with some wonderfully written articles. We nearly didn't make it, as a portion of the finished file corrupted near the end of production, but Hayleigh was the saviour and kept the ship afloat. You go girrrrl ❤️
I also had to make an advert for
@sumacqua.drink with a design deck they provided - actually tried some recently, it was very tasty!(Not a sponsor!)
So to have the shock of THREAD not just being shortlisted by
@spajournalism but then going to WIN at #spanc26 has been a time. I attended alongside Arts and Culture Editor
@abbeyhayden_ down to the awards ceremony in Norwich last weekend. I may have sobbed a little bit on her shoulder after coming off stage accepting the award 🥺
A huge congratulations to the team at THREAD (
@katietd ), and a massive thank you to
@newcastlecollege for funding my trip to this amazing event. It was an honour to represent the North East, expect my acceptance speech that I absolutely did not prepare for later!
