As a graduating senior, today's broadcast marked my last time delivering multimedia content as a journalist for Lynn University iPulse News.
It was an absolute honor having Michael Williams, one of my mentors and a Journalist in Residence at Lynn, as the subject of my final interview.
Williams has spent more than four decades in broadcast journalism. Notably, he had a 15-year stint as an anchor and reporter at NBC WPTV, where he gained notoriety for delivering sharp and informative stories.
Williams is passing that expertise on to the next generation, serving as an integral part of the iPulse News family and informing young journalists like me of the various skills needed to thrive.
I sat down with the Emmy-winning journalist to decipher his passion for mentorship, collaborating with Lynn students, and adapting to an evolving industry.
We appreciate Michael immensely for all of the time and energy he's allocated to our journalism program; a great professional, but an even better human!

🎥 BREAKING NEWS🚨Making waves for National Water Safety Month
Florida Swim School was featured by Lynn University’s iPulse News to discuss an important message: drowning is preventable, and learning to swim is a life-saving skill.
This National Water Safety Month, we’re proud to help raise awareness about water safety, drowning prevention, and the importance of swim lessons for children in Boca Raton and South Florida.
Thank you, Lynn iPulse, for helping amplify this vital conversation.

The US Supreme Court struck down Louisiana’s redistricting map. Critics say the decision weakens the Voting Rights Act. While some believe the decision blocked an unfair map. Either way, the decision leaves questions about a nationwide redistricting effort. #journalism #politics #voting
Brycen O’Neil is a Lynn University junior who is blind. She turns to her four-legged friend to help her navigate daily life on campus. I had a chance to speak with her🐕🦴🐾

May 3 is World Press Freedom Day, a time for journalists to review the Constitution and better understand their rights when covering stories and ongoing issues in society 📰
Given the significance of this day, I thought I would revisit an event with a highly relevant message.
In February, I attended the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) South Florida chapter’s “Know Your Rights” panel at The Palm Beach Post, where speakers addressed the intense resistance journalists face today.
Panelist Bacardi Jackson, an attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida, reminded journalists of their rights and educated attendees on navigating the current climate.
NABJ South Florida President and CBS News Miami Anchor, Chelsea Jones, also added her sentiment.
