School years in Mexico, summers in the PNW. Six years of figuring out life that didn’t exist on any career map. I write about it every week on substack: lydialauer.substack.com link in bio if you want all the goss! #lifeaftercorporate #career #motherhood #expatsabroad

Today feb 24th just outside Vallarta 💚🇲🇽 A trip to the farmers market for some essentials & lunch & then back home for work.
The damage in Vallarta is real but not all the visuals or story presented online are the real story. Happy to report that friends and family in Vallarta are returning to normal life.

Plot twist: yesterday’s post was supposed to be about my paid subscription model but turned into a one way affiliate link debate & now I think I offended everyone. 😅
Let’s try this again: Whats your take as a consumer? How did you decide how to monetize (or not)? What feels authentic to your platform? Read the full thing on lydialauer.substack.com 💌
I wrote something on Substack this week about being a Type B mom. No systems. No apologies. Apparently it’s resonating, sitting at #19 on Substack leaderboard today.
I write mostly about identity, lifestyle & how I’m choosing to navigate career & motherhood. It is extremely validating to see my writing resonate cause it all just comes from the heart. Thank you for reading 💌

SPRING BREAK 2026: We spent the fist two weeks of April in our favorite city. Enjoying everything our beach town doesn’t have to offer: castelvetrano olives, weather cold enough to want a cappuccino instead of an iced americano, baguettes, friends and enough city to actually get lost in.
This was our fifth or sixth trip as a family. We packed skateboards, rode the bus and hit our favorite restaurant, parks & ofc the zoo.
I turned 42 & celebrated not once but twice, with a grumpy Felix under the table both times. Great prep for our summer travels 🫣
My latest piece was written last night after my kids went to bed 👩🏻💻When inspiration strikes right?!? Today on substack I am processing my feelings about life after a corporate career bla bla bla. Per usual a public journal entry on lydialauer.substack.com 👀
