Since we launched the station almost three years ago, our goal has been to amplify art, culture, and music from the margins. On May 29th we’re having an Open Air takeover, kicking off three days of radio compiled of all-new voices and YOU could be part of it!
Applications are open to everyone but we really want to hear ideas from global majority, female and non binary DJs. So come to the front!

A cooperative radio station and community launching 22.07.23 — WHY? * Ongoing strikes, rising inequality, falling living standards, and widespread corruption - it's 2023, but the 1970s are getting a rewind. — Fifty years ago, those that found themselves marginalised could protest with art and music. Today, the music and art movements born on the fringes are quickly commercialised, sanitised and appropriated by investors and big business. Bleached, reshaped, and sold back to us. — The dull ache of capitalism is insidious - and it’s stopped any notion of a space that’s about good not greed. Now all we’re left with is a shallow version of appropriated and diluted culture that’s more focused on raising revenue than raising vibrations. — But necessity is the mother of invention - and to create is in our nature - from the seeds of discontent grows dissent. We believe that the commercialisation of culture needs an opposition. We have hope. — Dancefloors, community centres, disused car parks, chat rooms, bedrooms, the afters, the big tents, the small audiences, the bonds of the unheard, the red lights, the basements and the feelings. The feeling that we are more than just individuals with possessions - this is life. This is what we want to protect. — So we’re on a mission together to create a space that’s just for us, devoid of interference from brands and ‘audience monetisation’ plans. This is our sacred space, our little corner of the world where we can share our love for music, art, and one another, this... this is our home. — This is lovewillsavetheday.fm

LWSTD-FM’s Open Air is BACK.
On May 29th we kick off another LWSTD-FM’s Open Air takeover for 2026 and we want to platform people that are new to radio!
At LWSTD-FM our goal is to make our schedule as diverse and inclusive as possible ensuring we reflect music from the margins and the underground. We love Open Air weekend to be a diverse blend of styles, formats and genres. So if you’ve ever dreamed about being on the radio and have an idea for a show then Open Air is for you.
