At LUX, we have ALWAYS put dance education first and have explained the value in competition and what we should be searching for as aspiring artists when it comes to using our art in a competitive space. We feel confident we can represent this focus and provide motivation and EDUCATION with our BRAND NEW SOLO COMPETITION!!! As an available add-on to ANY LUX event, you can now not only have the GOLD STANDARD of dance education at your studio but you can now also have your own personal COMPETITION as well! Details are as follows:
CASH PRIZES as well as medals and scholarships
Unlimited Solo Entries
Limit to 2 Solos per dancer
Multiple age levels and divisions available
Must have 10 entries per age level
Awards will be presented at the Showcase
Scoresheets and Critiques also provided

For nearly TEN years, LUX has set the standard for in-house dance education. Going beyond the 8-counts and actually investing in a one-on-one experience for ALL students attending our events spanning across the country. We have consistently pushed the boundaries and seen our format followed and more experiences in the in-house market created and are proud to be a part of that with our focus and main priority on all of our attending students, both current and future, and we will continue to innovate to inspire more progression in this space. 🚨🐺 Welcome to the Pack @sarah_waless !!! We are SO pumped to share our newest faculty member Sarah Wales from Dallas, TX! Sarah Wales is a Dallas based dancer, choreographer, and educator trained in a variety of styles including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance and B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Austin. She has performed with companies including SoulEscape, URBAN Performing Company, B. MOORE DANCE, and Bombshell Dance Project. In addition to performing, she serves as Co-Director for URBAN Performing Company where she challenges her choreographic voice and helps dancers grow as professional working artists. She has been commissioned to create works for 6 O’Clock Dance Theatre, The Butler Opera Center, Garage Arts Project, HYPE Dallas, Cohen New Works Festival, Dance Repertory Theatre, and Moving Forward Winter Fest. Sarah is passionate about educating movers of all ages to use dance as a way to develop work ethic, artistic expression, and authenticity. In her creative practice, she relies on movement to gain a deeper understanding of the self and her contextual world. Welcome to the Pack, Sarah!
