I’ve been moving through the world quietly, doing the work behind closed doors, staying solid even when it felt like no one saw me. Working two jobs , sacrificed sleep, missed out on so much just to show up for a future only I could see. I did it without a spotlight, without a safety net, and most of the time… without help.
Some of the people I thought would be proud of me—weren’t. Some were too wrapped in their own envy, pride, or pain to say, “I’m happy for you.” Even family. Even the ones who raised me. And yes, it hurt. But it taught me something no one could ever take away: I don’t need anyone’s permission to rise.
I’ve been counted out more times than I can remember. Looked over, underestimated, left out of rooms I deserved to be in and I’m not waiting for anyone to validate this journey.
So if you ever doubted me… keep watching.
