Shooting his own Mother 😔We in the last days
A man has been charged with Felonious Assault (Serious Physical Harm), Felonious Assault (Deadly Weapon), and Attempted Murder following a shooting that occurred on Monday, January 26, 2026 in the 4100 block of Indian Run. The suspect remains in custody at the Montgomery County Jail.
On Monday, MCSO Dispatch received a 911 call from an adult female resident reporting she had been shot multiple times in her legs and back by her 22-year-old son. The victim barricaded herself inside a bedroom and remained on the phone with dispatchers while deputies responded. During the call, the victim expressed fear that her son would force his way into the bedroom and kill her.
Upon arrival, deputies quickly formulated a plan to make entry in order to provide aid to the victim. As deputies approached the residence, 22-year-old Malique Morrow opened the door in an attempt to exit the apartment with a Glock handgun within reach of his person. Deputies immediately ordered Morrow to the ground and safely took him into custody.
Deputies then immediately rendered aid to the victim, who is currently listed in serious but stable condition. Once the scene was secured, medics entered the residence and transported the victim to a local hospital.
During the investigation, deputies recovered a firearm and spent shell casings from the residence. Morrow was interviewed by investigators and admitted to shooting his mother multiple times while she was lying in bed. At this time, no clear motive has been established.
Despite hazardous road conditions and an active snowstorm, deputies were able to bring the situation under control and ensure the victim received immediate medical care. This case remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Special Investigations Unit.
