The design of Operæ.cc starts from a simple and iconic shape that identifies the enclosed space, with small variations in composition, similar to perspective errors. The element changes, gets distorted, opens to the public and shrinks near its inhabitant. Even through these steps, Operæ.cc retains its iconicity and acquires contemporaneity.
The production and installation combine organically methods of digital fabrication with established production and assembly systems. The structure is obtained from panels of poplar plywood and it supports a roof wall in laser cut and marked wood panels, while the interior is in planks of plywood CNC cut.
