Highlights from Nampo A huge thank you to @kamersmakers for the opportunity to join their first ever pop-up at @nampoharvestday - it was an unforgettable experience! It was so important and special to reconnect with the merino sheep and angora goats that give us their fabulous wool and silky locks to wear. 1) Getting to touch the sweetest angora goat in the world at the @mohairsouthafrica and @studiomohair_msa stall was perhaps the highlight of the week - and I was wearing mohair… full circle. 2) Our merino wool / mohair Leopard Print scarf with the new Elona knit from @inkeknitwearct (such a beauty!) 3) My neighbour Alta from @nimal.leather - she came straight from heaven, I believe! 4) LOVED the styling of our new Hanna scarf and magenta Jackie with the fabulous @ninaskep handbag and @clothingbydot jumpsuit. Dopamine dressing!! 5) Heidi from @vro.lik is just a tonic!!! Here combining one of their innovative Bril-jant reading glass gadgets with our pink Hanna scarf. 6) Jacques from @ovk_groep and the angora goat were also exhausted after the intense week at @mohairsouthafrica stall. What a heartwarming scene! 💛💛

Motivation Last year I saw this painting by @janetmkingwill and it brought me to a standstill. She captured a moment between the shearer and the sheep that just speaks to everything that Luminous Ware stands for. Why did it pull at my heart strings? Because of the authenticity of wool and mohair - they are REAL fibres. Furthermore, the fibres are a gift from the animals to the humans who raise them and care for them. At the same time these animals and their marvellous locks create jobs - not only on the farms, but in processing, yarn production, manufacturing and retail. So, I’m all in on this journey to create a love for wool and mohair - firstly among South Africans, secondly among foreigners who value our beautiful products. Officially taking part at KWWF 2026 - Again, ja! The @karoo_winter_wool_festival is an absolute highlight on the calender for lovers of wool, slow fashion, farming, Karoo lifestyle, crafting… the list goes on! And the variety of vendors is just fabulous. I can’t recommend a lekker winter road trip to this event highly enough. BUT be warned: hope and excitement is contagious at this festival. Accommodation in the area sells out fast for the festival, so make haste !
