Feeling joyous to see my photograph in print in the most recent @float_magazine issue, Re:collection, a project exploring remembrance and photographic history. The magazine is filled with so many beautiful modern and archival photographs, and to be among them is an honor. Pick up a copy for yourself and see the online exhibition at floatmagazine.us <3

So grateful to have been featured in Lenscratch last month and be interviewed by the wonderful Epiphany Knedler after meeting at Review Santa Fe last November. To be given the opportunity to explore in words the meaning of Even If Only Just For Right Now after such transformative reviews in Santa Fe feels amazing. Thank you @epiphanysk @lenscratch @centersantafe 🌟

A long overdue thank you post for all who helped my show Closer come to life back in May. This show was a culmination of everything I have learned thus far as a photographer and artist, and it would not have been possible without mentors and friends to guide me. Thank you to all of my professors who guided me through this process. I learned so much from you both through the creation of this work together and by presenting it as a show with your insight. Thank you to my friends who helped me with the logistics, without you the show wouldn’t have gone on!!! And most of all thank you to everyone who trusted me to photograph them, your vulnerability is why I am a photographer. The intimacy in my relationships continues to inspire me every day, and I hope to carry this love with me always. I’ll continue to share work from this project, but for now the exhibition walkthrough can be found in my bio! Thanks to @samwyattphoto for these photos from that night. Love, Lulu

My most recent body of work, Closer, has been an ongoing visual diary- one I’ve kept intentionally for 6 months, but have really been photographing for years. It’s an exploration of the tenderness and vulnerability within human connection- found moments where one’s guard is down and the image is born of love and trust. I contracted Lyme disease at the age of 11 (happy Lyme disease awareness month!) and I spent the next 5 years of my life in and out of school, often bedridden and disabled. This completely altered my social experience, limiting the depth and consistency of my relationships. After being cured and returning to school my junior year, it was like being born into a 17-year-old body. I finally began to experience and understand the intensity and tenderness that was possible within relationships. Connection with others became a cherished honor; and now I document it out of a need for preservation. I have been driven by the act of becoming Closer ever since. These photographs depict the tactile and emotional quality of the intimacies around me, where my subject and I are witness to one another’s authenticity. Through these photographs, I have grown closer to those I love- this is for them. I could not be more grateful. Come see more of these works, much larger than a little screen! I’d love to see you there. Cedar House Gallery, Saturday May 24th, 5-9 pm The show is also open the next day, Sunday May 25th, 2-6 pm. Also on view will be @abbiebrodne ‘s beautiful exhibition, The Lucky Ones.
