I am delighted to have been awarded with another prize this year at the prestigious European Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, organized by the @gdt.ewpy , for my photograph “The Golden Cave.”
This image means a lot to me. A transient landscape glows in the surreal golden light of the setting sun, while the winding river reflects the last sunrays onto the brown mud-covered ice of the glacier gate. Only in this way can this surreal color be created. A magical place that has sadly become history… ❤️

For a two-part nature documentary by UNIVERSUM, I spent some time in Mangystau and had the opportunity to capture this extraordinary landscape from the air with my drone. Over millions of years, erosion by water and wind has exposed layer upon layer of various minerals.
What today looks like an abstract, artistic desert was once covered by the ancient Tethys Ocean. Its vanished waters left behind a landscape that resembles a quiet, abstract work of art... Congratulations to all the other winners! 🙏🏽😌

I am delighted that this abstract depiction of a dipper in its natural habitat - one of my personal favorite photos - has been honored with an honorable mention in the „Artists on Wings“ category at the Glanzlichtern der Naturfotografie 2026!
It took me 4 years to create this image. It was a truly exciting process!

Deep within a gorge carved over millions of years by a rushing mountain stream, a small guest lives, tending to its young. With gentle care it flies in and out along the river’s course. The little dipper does not notice the magical sight it offers to the quiet observer standing high above on a cliff. There, watching down the gorge, the rays of the sun meet the mist of the water and create a beautiful rainbow.
