@lukey51 An Australian Desert Racing household name and all round nice guy, that is a massive asset to our @scoreinternational aussie invasion of the Baja1000 2026 Rider Overview Full Name: Luke Hayes Nickname: “Hayesie buddha” Team (Team / Ironman): Team Rider Curretn bike: 2026 KTM EXC500 Riding Number: 51 Years Riding: 27 Base Location: Alice Springs Riding Specialty: Desert Racing, Rally, Off-road Luke is a Northern Territory born and bred local with a passion for desert racing that runs deep in his blood. His grandads raced horces at bush meets before my dad who cut his teeth racing desert on CR500’s. This instilled a strong and fervorous hunger in me from a young age to compete and race across wide open landscapes, something I still hold onto now. He started riding motorcycles when he was 4 years old on a cattle station outside of Alice Springs. Back then, bikes were both a tool for enjoyment and utility. I started out mustering cattle and navigating my way through the bush until age 10 when his dad afforded him the opportunity to go racing. From there he was hooked. His desert upbringing and long days in the saddle behind cattle always had him leaning more towards desert and enduro racing, which is what he predominantly ended up pursuing. Luke has competed in 10 Finkes as of this year, with a podium finish and multiple top 10 results, with nothing further back than 15th in my first one at 17 years old.Aside from local enduro championship trophies and wins, Luke has managed two podium finishes at both Kalgoorlie Desert Race’s, two podiums at both Sunraysia Safari’s, a third outright at Jamalka Desert Race, podiums in the Ironman class at Deep Well MX and a catalogue of outright wins at the Sporties 12 Hour, alongside a win in the Ironman class doing a solo effort in that event. Luke Brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, along with a great mindset and calm approach to the demands of desert racing. #scoreinternartional #aussieinvasion #baja1000 #six27racing #aussieaussieaussie #lukehayes

Howdy all, sorry it’s taken a minute to circle back and fill everyone in. Needed a few days on do not disturb while I got everything right behind the scenes! Firstly an apology to all my family, friends and sponsors for dropping the ball and not being able to showcase our efforts this year! That’s probably been the toughest pill to swallow, but that’s part of racing and it’s the way it goes sometimes. So close, yet so far. Secondly, a big congratulations to all the crew who rose to the occasion and got it done this year. Sometimes you reap what you sow and there was a lot of fresh faces in the mix who were able to put their hard work to good use. You all know who you are, I’m proud of ya’s. As for me, as many of you are aware, I had a big off last Thursday. One of those small things that wouldn’t normally catch me out but this time it did a number on me. Broken femur and some shiny new hardware. At this stage I may need a further operation to reattach a tendon to one of my fingers. I was in good care fairly early on. Sorry to the folks who found me first, no idea who you are and not the best scene to stumble on. Fortunately I had some medical care within the first hour and then it was about a 6 hour turnaround to get me into hospital (for anyone who hasn’t set the SOS feature on their phone, take it from me, do it now, it helped massively). Big thank you to driver Simone and kiwi Geoff the paramedic who was my ketamine shaman on that bumpy 3 and a half hour ambo ride to town. What a journey that was. Also a big thank you to my beautiful partner @laurren.ward , my family and my friends who have all had me covered as best they can this last week. Once again, sorry to put you all through it 😅 I’ve got a road ahead and I have a habit of learning things the hard way, but I’m champing at the bit to start this process and get back up on my feet. Thanks to everyone who has reached out. I truly appreciate it and it goes a long way. I’m so blessed to have so many good people in my corner! It’s very humbling sometimes. So, it’s peace out for now until I can shake the rust off, we’ll see what the future holds! Cheers
