2000 hours of direct therapeutic work + 1000 hours of indirect hours of therapeutic work = all hours completed to obtain my full NC Therapist License!
This journey began back in 2017 when I started my Clinical Masters program. It wasn’t a straight path…It took some turns that allowed me to coach lacrosse, but here we are.
I would not be crossing this line without the support and love of many folks.
-Tiff, my love, you have been with me on this journey every step of the way. You have kept me focused and were never shy about letting me know when I was veering off course. You sacrificed more of your time and picked up more slack raising our clan so that I could complete this journey… all while completing your own masters program, birthing Thach, progressing in your career, birthing Charley and Jasper, and returning to work as the Chief Operating Officer for Eliada. You are the most amazing woman I have ever met and you continue to amaze me every single day.
-Dad, though engineering and therapy are just about as opposite as fields can get, you have always been a phone call away to listen and provide sound advice for how to deal with difficult workplace choices. You have never stopped rooting for me.
-Kristin, my mentor/friend/supervisor. You gave my confidence when you first supervised me as an intern and that confidence has only grown as you’ve supervised me through this licensure process. Your direction, lessons, feedback has been invaluable.
Eliada- the whole organization… where would I be if we had never met? You gave me an opportunity to work and grow in this field, introduced me to my wife and lifelong friends, have given me opportunities learn and grow, and most importantly put me face-to-face with the children who I have attempted to help.
-Andy, with you getting your doctorate it became clear to me that I couldn’t be the brother “without an advanced degree”. Thanks for the extra push.
-Mom, I have felt you with me every step. All of my innate “therapeutic” characteristics I attribute to watching you live your life. The “unconditional positive regard” we are to hold for clients I saw you model with every person you interacted with. You taught me kindness
Welcome to the Mackenzie clan little ones!
