All roads lead to @shindigfestival in a couple of weeks… I really cannot speak highly enough of this festival and the team behind it… It feels like everyone I speak to is heading there this year.. And what makes this one extra special is how hard they have worked to hold onto their headline artist, Bob Vylan in the face of growing controversy and operational challenge.. knowing firsthand how hard it is when pressure comes down like this.. The team are holding their ground too, and with that comes even more pressure.. Artists will always use their platforms to express their political views and festivals have always been a space for bold, boundary-pushing music and culture… really hope everyone will get behind them and make their way to the Wiltshire fields in a few weeks’ time.. Xx

An absolutely wicked lineup of 4x4 music - so great to really expand on this, techno and Punk were very much in the founding genres for @boomtownfairofficial in the early years.. But the real headline here is Hydrogen, of which we’re pretty obsessed with!! last year we introduced it, this year we are really stepping up the scale of production powered by it.. And we are working with a really brilliant company called @geo_pura , who make their own green hydrogen through electrolysis - (splitting water to separate hydrogen from oxygen). Crucially, they power that entire process using renewable wind and solar energy.. The only problem to solve now is the transportation currently in a diesel lorry to Winchester from up north… Having spent a fair bit of time at parties, it’s honestly such a relief to finally have generators that make no noise and instead of diesel fumes pumping out there is water vapor so clean the team actually bottle it back up and drink it.. I really can see a world in 10 or so years where entire festivals are run off Hydrogen, it just needs those that can to step forward and invest in these organisations, infrastructure can come down in price, resources can go up.. issues can be perfected. #Boomtown #GreenHydrogen #SustainableEvents #GeoPura #techno

Yesterday was a massive milestone.. @boomtownfairofficial has officially secured a five-year planning permission.. Most people will be totally unaware of this side of things, but securing planning is by far the greatest challenge we face… We’re one of the only festivals in the country that needs it due to the sheer scale of our build and the time we need on-site - and doing it all within a National Park adds a whole extra layer of complexity.. We started this application back in 2018. After years being knocked back the committee finally voted unanimously in our favor.. This result belongs to the incredible team and community behind the scenes. It’s the result of years of outreach, local charity support, and pioneering sustainability - from hydrogen-powered stages and urine-based fertiliser to achieving a 95% recycling rate. It’s the result of meticulous planning that respects everything from badger setts and butterfly zones to complex transport routes… And As part of this new chapter, we’ve committed to significant ecological legacies within the National Park, including: • 4.2 acres of new wildflower meadows. • Over a mile of hedgerow enhancement. • 18.5 acres of woodland improvement. • 42 skylark plots and 88.2 habitat units purchased locally. • Strict, year-round Wildlife Protection Zones. This was a massive team effort in the truest sense. . To our crew, our suppliers who backed our case, and everyone who flew the flag for us - thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you… X

A wicked day - we planted over 500 trees on the southern section of the Giant Tree Circle - a mixture of Hazel, Oak and Hawthorn. Thx to the @boomtownfairofficial team for the energy to get this done.. A drop in the ocean but the momentum is massively growing 🌱 #gianttreecircle #reforesttheworld

Happy 90th to this amazing lady! I’ll never forget phoning her up many years ago - “Gran, I’ve got this crazy idea and I need your honest opinion... If you heard that a festival called Boomtown Fair was going to be happening nearby, what would your instant reaction be?” Without hesitating, she said: “I think it sounds really lovely dear.” And that was that. Signed off by the best - thanks, Gran! 😂

Power, Responsibility and projection. I’ve wanted to share this for a while but struggled with how to articulate it - hopefully this lands: We’re obviously seeing clear abuse of power on the global stage. But it is everywhere - in governments, corporations, communities, and within our own festival industry too. When humans are placed in positions of influence without the right awareness or support, ego will often start running the show… And I’m not speaking from theory. There have been moments in my roles where pressure, old wounds and projection from others pulled me off centre - and I feel shame looking back. At times, what looked like certainty was really the frightened inner boy in me trying to be seen.. Thankfully, some honest conversations and mentorship helped deal with those scared younger parts but in an industry like ours - where there are so many roles that influence over others, crew, managers, artists, security etc this is amplified. No-one is immune to the ego taking over. Without reflection, education and people willing to challenge us, any of us can drift without realising it.. This isn’t about blame. It’s about responsibility. Not my words but: Power needs care. Leadership needs mirrors. Influence needs accountability. As a team, we’re committed to this work - prioritising leadership development and surrounding ourselves with people who won’t just tell us what we want to hear. We’re all human, learning as we go. No one above another, part of the same story, trying to do better each time. x

Big celebrations in @boomtownfairofficial HQ today as all tickets are now sold out!! 🎉 As many of you know, this year’s theme, Radical Redesign, is about reshaping the world around us but it’s also looking inward at how we build our own community. The “puzzle” of putting this festival together, in this era, has reached a whole new level of complexity and we really don’t take the support for granted. 🧡 Thank you all so much. We cannot wait to dance in the fields.

WAKE THE TIGER – London update It’s really happening!! We’re starting to see detailed design plans, fleshed-out stories, art pieces, tech, lore - and it’s incredible to witness. But wow…!! It is a mad project, We’ve basically torn up the organogram and taped it back together every week - mostly because there is no blueprint for a world that doesn’t exist yet.. I imagine it’s most similar to when a film gets the go-ahead for production and people from all over have to ignite into action at light speed… Yet with a permanent weight to it, and this isn’t just set, it’s a new reality. In an era of AI and digital shortcuts, we’re trying to build something bulletproof, sustainable, yet touchable. And somthing that taps in far deeper than a screen can ever offer… @wakethetiger is this beautiful mix of experiences coming together for what feels like the first time - festival people, temporary attraction people, theme park people, permanent building people. Each crucial, but each different in style.. Yet each trying to make sense of a role they’ve never quite held before. A huge humble thank you to all teams, from around the country, working so hard to figure this all out. Without the chaos, the richness won’t come. Boots are officially on the ground. It’s raw. It’s deep. It’s cosmic. It’s authentically, eccentrically British. More to follow soon 😊
