In case you missed it (like me), Bird Song is out! Let’s pretend this post isn’t late 🤠 Life has been hectic but it’s nice to sit down and look back on the journey.
Change played a big role in this song. I wrote this song 6 years ago - started out wanting to write a cute little song about wanting to spend time with the one you love, but then life happened and I wrote the last verse which ultimately shaped into something else. Half a decade later, the song been passed through many hands. In the last two years the arrangement, lyrics, cover art, all of that went through changes. But what I like about this song is that despite all the changes, it’s still the same song with all the same feelings about the same bird.
Fun fact (unless you’re a bird nerd): the original artwork shows a male black and white warbler bird and the new one has a female.
This is the last single release until the rest of the EP, Songs for a Bird, comes out. I’m really excited for it to come out and can’t wait to finally share it with you all on Oct 17!
