. Training for aesthetics and training for performance are two completely different approaches. A bodybuilder trains for symmetry and size. An athlete trains for robustness and performance. A bodybuilder looks slow next to an athlete. An athlete looks small next to a bodybuilder. The misunderstanding is why some coaches still tell players not to lift. The issue isn’t the gym. The issue is thinking the gym is bodybuilding.
