Today is World Migratory Bird Day and this year's theme says it all, Every Bird Counts. Your Observations Matter. Millions of birds are in the air right now, crossing continents, following ancient routes, guided by instinct alone. From the forests of West Africa to the wetlands of Europe, these journeys are extraordinary. And they are under threat. Habitat loss, climate change, and human activity are disrupting migration patterns that have existed for thousands of years. When one species disappears from the sky, the entire ecosystem feels it. Here @lufasipark we are proud to be a green sanctuary in the middle of Lagos, a city that birds still choose to pass through and rest in. Our Ekki tree, our forest canopy, our lake, they matter to birds too. So today, look up. Listen. If you spot a bird, in your garden, on your balcony, at a park, kindly note it. Share it. Report it. Your observation is a data point that scientists and conservationists depend on. Every bird counts. Including the ones right here at LUFASI. Have you spotted any interesting birds lately? Tell us in the comments. 👇🏾 #worldmigratorybirdday #lufasipark #lovingnature #urbanforest

LUFASI is home to diverse species of animals in their natural habitat within the forest Today, let's talk about the Hooded Vulture, this is one of Africa's most misunderstood birds and one of LUFASI's most fascinating residents. You can spot them perched on the Ekki tree (Ironwood tree) right here within the park, watching over the forest with quiet authority. The Hooded Vulture is not a bad omen. It is a guardian. As nature's clean-up crew, it plays a critical role in keeping ecosystems healthy removing carcasses that would otherwise spread disease. Without vultures, our forests and wildlife suffer. Yet across Africa, vulture populations are declining rapidly due to habitat loss, poisoning, and yes, superstition. LUFASI is one of the few places in Lagos where you can see this incredible bird up close and learn the truth about its role in nature. Now we want to hear from you, what myths or beliefs have you heard about seeing a vulture? Drop it in the comments. No judgment, we are here to learn together. #lufasi #lovingnature #urbanforest #lufasipark #natureeducation

At Lufasi Nature Park, the Climate Beyond Borders Caravan becomes more than a journey—it becomes a statement. Stepping into this sanctuary of nature reminds us that protecting our environment is not a distant responsibility, but a present duty. As we walk through its green paths, we renew our commitment to climate action, sustainability, and collective impact. Together, we are not just visiting—we are inspiring change, restoring hope, and shaping a greener future for generations to come. @lufasipark

May came in quietly and honestly, so did we. But the forest does not rush, and neither do we. This month at LUFASI is going to be one to remember: 📍The Hug the Tree campaign is ongoing, 📍Biodiversity Day is on May 22, and 📍Children's Day Festival is on May 25. Come grow with us this month. #lufasi #lovingnature #lagosnature #mayinlagos #urbannature
