๐Ÿ“ฝ FORTY-TWO ๐ŸŽฌ This alternate WWII sci-fi, thrillesque feature film is out now on Amazon Prime to rent or buy, and I'm in it! ๐Ÿ‘€ They are small and fleeting roles, but see if you can spot me as an alt-nurse and a patient?! It wouldn't have happened without the Director, Writer, and Producer @eric.i.steele whose imagination, resourcefulness, work ethic, and ability to surprise never cease to amaze me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me to be a part of your vision that's now a magnificent reality! Huge Congratulations to @vamooseproductions & @fortytwofilm for producing such a thrilling independent film on a minute budget. Well worth the three years of gritty determination that went into it ๐Ÿ‘ Congrats to the wonderfully talented Cast & Crew ๐Ÿคฉ Especially a few I trained with, including but not limited to @damonspillane ๐ŸŒŸ @laurenjadeacting ๐Ÿ’ซ @sebastian__derby โญ๏ธ @mattykidelis ๐ŸŒŸ And Editor extradinaire @laurapetrie_96 ๐ŸŽž Now it's down to you, the viewer, to see what could've happened if the Nazis won the war.... ๐Ÿ’ซ CREATE AWARDS 2025 ๐Ÿ’ซ I don't think it's sunk in yet...it still seems massively overwhelming and surreal that I won ๐Ÿ† The Dean's Award ๐Ÿ† @uos_artsmedia Create Awards last week! ๐Ÿซข I was bowled over by how incredible all the nominees for all the Awards categories were! Therefore, to be alongside them (some I'm lucky enough to call my good friends) was really humbling! ๐Ÿฅน It was such a fun, inspiring, and emotive evening! ๐Ÿฅฐ Thank you to my fantastic tutors for nominating me, to the judging panel for seeing something in me, that I've not necessarily seen in myself during the past three years, to my "little" brother for coming along to capture the most improvised speech of my life on video (to embarrass me forever more ๐Ÿ˜œ), and to the organisers for creating such a wonderful event! Our presenters were phenomenal, and I was especially excited to have @kiri_pritchard_mclean on my table even ifit did mean she got to see me try not to drop food down myself& get to chat to @vkhawkesworth , whom I love listening to on the radio ๐Ÿ“ป Last but not least, Thank You to my friends & family for your unwavering support throughout my university degree ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“ Being able to do what I do outside of my course just wouldn't be possible without you all ๐Ÿ˜˜ ๐Ÿ‘— Dress: Agata @aga.designs ๐Ÿ’‡โ€โ™€๏ธ Hair: Bex @maisalonuk ๐Ÿ’„ The Rest: my parents, the NHS, et moi ๐Ÿ˜‰ Official photos to follow ๐Ÿ“ธ #createawards2025

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025: 4 x 100m Female Relay ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช I know I'm a little out of sync with the spectacular events at the WTG. But I had to showcase our heat of the 4x100m female relay. None of us sprint as our main event, and we only participate in the relay once every year or two if we're needed to make up the team. Therefore, I was bricking it! Our aims were to: 1. Not drop the baton. 2. Not fall over. 3. Give the camera operator a run for their money ๐Ÿ˜‹ I think it's safe to say we stormed all three ๐Ÿ˜‰ We're Lane 8 (outside lane). I'm leg 2! You can hear a pin drop in the stadium before the sprints begin ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ I was genuinely confused when Millie passed me the baton as I couldn't see anyone behind her. She gave us such a fantastic start. Tia made her leg look so easy, and our awesome Team GB Athletics Captain Charlotte sealed the deal ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ… We came 1st in our timed heat and had the 3rd fastest time overall with 66.21 secs. However, because our amazing Great Britain A-Team had aced their race with a time of 56.94 seconds, they won gold, meaning GB couldn't medal twice! But I couldn't be more chuffed with my brilliant team: ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ@_.millie._ ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ@noswam_ait ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ@charlottedouglasx Thank you for believing in us and putting such a fab team together, Charlotte โค๏ธ #wtg2025 #worldtransplantgames2025 #thankyou #transplantathlete #teamgb๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง #girlpower #femaleempowerment

33 years ago today a total stranger saved my life. There aren't enough words to express my gratitude โค๏ธโค๏ธ Thanks to my miraculous Heart Transplant I'm still here alive & kicking thirty-three years on โœ๏ธ๐Ÿผ Of course, there have been hiccups along the way as transplants are a treatment not a cure. Despite this I've been able to live life to the full. My past few Transplant anniversaries are testament to this (the corresponding photos are numbered in brackets). 2026 (Photos 1-3): 33 Years TODAY - I visited where my radical Transplant took place all those years ago 'Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children' @greatormondst ๐Ÿฅฐ Lovely having the opportunity reminiscence. Funny seeing sights through an adult instead of a child's eyes. Sadly I am now too old for the local play park ๐Ÿ˜‚ yet never too old to indulge in some Peter Pan ๐Ÿ˜ 2025 (Photo 4): 32 Years - I was under the gaze of the camera ๐Ÿ“ฝ instead of a live audience acting in 'SCREAM QUEEN' ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐ŸŽฌ 2024 (Photo 5): 31 Years - I was on stage in a public performance at my uni, giving matriarch vibes ๐ŸŽญ 2023 (Photo 6): 30 Years - I celebrated 30th โค๏ธ Transplant Anniversary, halfway across the world in Aus, competing in my 1st ever World Transplant Games ๐Ÿ˜ Even bringing home a medal for Team GB ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ I'm forever grateful to the incredible medical teams who performed magic all those years ago & to my adult hospital @royalpapworth who keeping me tick tocking along and not forgetting my family and friends ๐Ÿ˜‡ As you might know the current organ donation system is the Opt Out (deemed consent) where your next of kin are consulted about your wishes. However, did you know you can still 'Opt In'? This is actually incredibly helpful, especially for family's where they never had that chat about donation. As let's be honest, it's not exactly the most cheerful topic, yet still important. So if you haven't yet, this might be a good excuse as any to share your wishes. I've popped a ๐Ÿ”— in my bio & today's story to a bit more information about becoming a donor & how to talk to your loved ones about it. Thank You! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025 โ€“ DAY 8 / THE FINAL DAY ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Yepโ€ฆ Iโ€™ve finally sorted the photos from Sat 23rd August: the Final Day of the World Transplant Games 2025 ๐Ÿ˜ญ After the frantic but fantastic Friday, I was officially frazzled. Having recently been diagnosed as neurospicy, it wasnโ€™t a huge surprise that after such an exciting & overstimulating day, I awoke with all the spices in full force. Add in my other chronic health conditions flaring up & I was feeling far from ๐Ÿ’ฏ. I even considered skipping my last event, the Ball Throw. But I knew the disappointment would hit harder than the exhaustion, and the Ball Throw is always such a fun and sociable event. By midday, I was trackside warming up. Huge thanks to liz for keeping us all on the same page with the rules; my rudimentary German definitely doesnโ€™t extend to โ€œBall Throw Regulations 101.โ€ Women from all over the world were in our group, and Iโ€™m so grateful to have been surrounded by such a lovely, funny, supportive bunch: everyone clapping and cheering each other on, no matter which team they're participating for. ๐Ÿ˜ By 2:20 p.m., weโ€™d only just finished the first round ๐Ÿซฃ and the Closing Ceremony was starting in the main stadium in ten minutes. I legged it over there and grabbed some lunch, which I was still eating between throws when I returned for the final round at 3 pm. Honestly, I was shocked to have made it into the final as Ball Throw is not my forte. Suddenly, everyone was saying, โ€œI want what she had!โ€ Clearly, my lunch had some magic ingredients because my throws came on in leaps and bounds ๐Ÿ˜‚ I even secured a competition PB of 24.5m! ๐ŸŽ‰ I was happy to finish a respectable 6th, no match for the fantabulous women casually smashing it out of the park with 40m+ ๐Ÿ™Œ Despite the overwhelm as the enormity of the WTG and getting soaked on my walk back, I was determined to make some of the Gala Dinner. I didnโ€™t want to miss celebrating everyoneโ€™s hard graft and achievements or the chance to say Goodbye to my teammates ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง And finallyโ€ฆTHANK YOU to everyone who supported me, my generous sponsors, our wonderful German hosts, the tremendous Team GB, and last, but certainly not least, my donor! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025 - DAY 7 / Frantic Friday continued ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช I meant to share in yesterday's post some of the fantastic Powerwalk action shots that Roger Douglas captured - Thank You! ๐Ÿฅฐ Goele had to head straight to her next event, so it was a couple of hours before we had the Powerwalk medal ceremony. ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰ Afterwards, I saw our incredible Team GB physio team, including the magic Sheila ๐Ÿ’†โ€โ™€๏ธ I was finally leaving the stadium to head back to my accommodation for a late lunch to fuel up and recharge ahead of the relay scheduled for 21:35!! When I got a text from one of our Athletics Captains to say that due to not everyone registering for the 100m sprint prelims that morning, I was now in theย 100m final! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Cue aย quick turnaround: I hot-footed it back, refuelled quickly, ready for the 17:45, 100m Final call time ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Huge Thanks to my wonderful teammate @karen.hodgson.332 for capturing moments from the final ๐Ÿ˜ I definitely stood out โ€” the only sprinting from a standing position rather than blocks! (Since I hadnโ€™t been able to train with them as much this year, that was the safest call.) With the likes of the incredible Liesolotte, I was happy to come a respectable 6th out of 8 - beating my WTG23 sprint time ๐ŸŽ‰ Afterwards, it was straight back to the physio team for a sports massage, so I could cope with the B-Team Womenโ€™s 4x100m relay. As I mentioned in an earlier post โ€” we were bricking it! Things got even more dramatic when we realised that we all needed matching tops. Mine didnโ€™t matchโ€ฆbut our quick-thinking Team GB Athletics @charlottedouglasx came to the rescue with a spare (without having to strip another teammate)! The atmosphere was electric, and you could've heard a pin drop as the stadium hushed for it ๐Ÿ‘€ We were ecstatic to WIN our heat with a time of 66.21 secs and come ๐Ÿฅ‰ 3RD ๐Ÿฅ‰ overall with our A-Team, acing it with an amazing 55.94 secs ๐Ÿ™Œ I arrived back at my accommodation at 11 p.m., exhausted but buzzing in awe of the fact that everyone I competed with today had a life-saving transplant! โค๏ธ #TeamGB๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง #wtg2025๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช #transplantathlete #transplantssavelives

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025 - DAYS 6 & 7 ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช As promised, more WTG25 spam has arrived ๐Ÿซฃ But with the main events of the World Transplant Games alongside some bling arriving, you'll hopefully enjoy the read... ๐Ÿฉต THURSDAY ๐Ÿฉต Thursday was an athletics training day at the glorious Heinz Steyer stadium ๐ŸŸ A great opportunity to become familiar with venues ahead of Frantic Friday ๐Ÿคช On Friday, I was due to compete in my main event, the ๐Ÿ’ฅ 3km Powerwalk ๐Ÿ’ฅ at 9 am. However, I was also due to be at a different location competing in the 100m sprint prelims at exactly the same time. Therefore, it was decided that the only thing to do was ask the officials if I could somehow do both in the call-room on Friday morning. Then, depending on what they said, potentially compete in the: ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธFemale 3km Powerwalk ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Female 100m Sprint prelims ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Female 100m Sprint Final ๐ŸŽฝ Female 4 x 100m Women's Relay ๐Ÿงก FRIDAY - THE POWERWALK ๐Ÿงก I arrived at the stadium, warmed up at 8:30 am. After speaking to the officials unsurprisingly, they advised that I'd have to forfeit either the 100m sprint prelims or the Powewalk. As I knew it was slim, I'd get into 100m finals, and my main event is the Powerwalk. I said I'd do that. I was gutted that I couldn't compete in both events, but as fast as I can walk, I can't be in two places at once ๐Ÿ˜” At the Powerwalk, I had a grand start and was feeling pretty good. However, the wind down the back straight might've felt lovely, yet it wasn't ideal for a competition. I was no match for reigning champ in my age category (30-39yrs) @goelemeex , who retained her ๐Ÿฅ‡ title. @miggie2perth secured ๐Ÿฅˆ I came in a plucky ๐Ÿฅ‰ AND 11th Fastest Female Transplantee Powerwalker in the world ๐ŸŒŽ๐ŸŽ‰ What I was even more delighted about was the fact that Goele & Miggie are fellow โค๏ธ sisters. Therefore, although we weren't first overall in the race , we are the current ๐Ÿ† 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (in my case) Fastest Female Heart-Transplantee Powewalkers in the World ๐Ÿ† ..Not too shabby for your thirties ๐Ÿ™Œ The icing on the cake was when Miggie told me she'd trained for two years to beat me, and boy did that training pay off! She stormed ahead of me ๐Ÿคฉ #TeamGB๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025: DAY 5 - CULTURAL EVENING ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช ๐Ÿ’™ WEDNESDAY ๐Ÿ’™ Wednesday was one of optional Athletics training days. As I was feeling pretty shattered, I decided to listen to my body and enjoy a lazy morning, prior to exploring some of beautiful city of Dresden in the fantastic summer sun โ˜€๏ธ Before heading back for the event that's my personal highlihht of the WTG...the Cultural Night (Beach Party) โ›ฑ๏ธ This event is a great opportunity for competitors to mingle. They're invited to attend in their nations dress and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and flag swapping (yep, we swapped flag pins ๐Ÿ“Œ ๐Ÿ˜). This was the perfect opportunity to wear my tailor-made dress by fellow @uos_artsmedia grad Agata Ksiazkowska ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“ This was hosted at Saxonys' largest Beach Club by the River Elbe. And what a cool venue it was ๐Ÿ– I had a fab time letting my hair down (as I wasn't competing the following day) with my fellow teammates and meeting inspiring athletes from across the ๐ŸŒŽ I finished the evening playing street chess in the local square as it was still that warm! Although I couldn't speak much German, you don't need to when you play chess. Safe to say as the King of Dresden Chess Giorg wiped the floor with me, but still came to watch the Athletics on the Friday where, thankfully, I performed slightly better โ™Ÿ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ‘— @aga.designs #wtg2025 #WTGGermany2025๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช #dresdencity #TeamGB๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง #transplantathlete #culturalevening

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง WTG 2025 - Dresden ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช So it's been a minute (achem three months) since the World Transplant Games in Germany. And following moving house, the lurgy, and life generally life-ing I've FINALLY begun sifting through my heap of photos. Sorry /not sorry in advance for all the drip-fed WTG spam incoming. I decided to pick up where I left off doing each day of the rest of the magic week in chronological order. Starting with... ๐Ÿ’œ MONDAY ๐Ÿ’œ This was a much-needed recharge day! My top priority: food shopping (since everything was closed on Sunday). Cue me ravenously deciphering German menus & feeling like I'd just won the lucky dip if I'd ordered something I liked ๐Ÿ˜‚ Germanyโ€™s Aldi? Like the UKโ€™s, but on steroids. ๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ’ช โค๏ธ TUESDAY โค๏ธ Tuesday involved catching up on games prep, exploring Dresden, having my comp nails done ๐Ÿ’…, and a lurverly meal with some of my Royal Papworth Teammates ๐Ÿ˜ Good food, great company, gorgeous weather, and grand surroundings. ๐Ÿฅฐ What more could you ask for?! #TeamGB๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง #WTG2025๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช #dresden๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ชโค๏ธ #Teammates #transplantathletes #thankyouโค
