OSCAM Highlight: Isabel Velthoven and Mary Lucy Vital
Isabel Velthoven is a creative who teamed up with fellow creatives Lucy and Charlotte Nicole. Together, they traveled all the way to Sint Maarten to experience Caribbean Carnival. But beyond the celebration, they embarked on a creative journey, bringing their vision to life with local models and artists in a project called Tiz We Own Ting, set in The Village.
Surrounded by diverse cultures, the local girl is multifaceted, bold, and in charge of her own destiny. Inspired by the women in her chosen village, she is reminded to embrace her true self, unapologetically. What is our culture, you may ask? Tiz We Own Ting.

This is Marie Lucy Vital, an island girl who brings the spirit of Sint Maarten to the streets of Amsterdam. A young creative carving her own path, she blends the influences of her hometown with the experiences of travel, the places she’s lived, and the people she met along the way.
This portrait series ‘THIS IS’ captures the woman that Lucy is today—shaped by her roots, her culture, and the creative energy of those around her. It’s a celebration of her strength, individuality, and the unique perspectives she brings to the world—and to me.
