Counia Manmanw is a Creole insult. Very widespread, it can easily be heard in the Antilles. The insult refers to the mother’s genitals 👀 It’s the French equivalent of “your mother’s cunt” 💝
Rumors claim that the insult Counia Manmanw dates back to the slave period: the white men established in the Antilles, to further emphasize their dominant position, forbade black female slaves from wearing jewelry. Black people could only dress in rags.
So the children of white settlers, when they wanted to demean black slave children, shouted this insult: “counia manmanw!” to remind the black kids of their miserable condition, made slave by their own mother.
