Chronicling the multiple facets of self-perception, collaborative photo series ‘Mask’ takes inspiration from the ancient Japanese Proverb ‘The three faces’: the face that we show to the world, the one we show to our family and friends, and that which we only see ourselves 🎭 For this series, photographer @luckango teams up with make-up artist @nana7se , hair stylist @ububee8 , fashion stylist @lojusta and multi-hyphenate creative @yangiiiy to demonstrate the beauty that lies in each version of ourselves. “People choose to carry a different version of themselves, different masks. They can be whoever they want no matter where they are or who they’re with. We don’t define as one, we define as many” - Lucka Ngô From one perception to another, we sat down with make-up artist Nanasea to discuss the origins of her career and their take on the message behind the project. “I first got into [makeup] when I was 12 years old. My sister shaved my eyebrows and put black eyeliner on my eyes. I felt like I was close to being an adult and it made me gain my confidence”, Nanasea says of her first beauty experience. “Now, my beauty routine changes every season. I’m a sensitive person, physically and mentally. I change all my skincare products and what I eat depending on the season.” Synonymous with the core concept behind ‘Mask’, Nanasea confesses “I believe that every person has different versions of themselves,” with the first look in the series portraying ‘brushed makeup’ - a representation of one's ‘true self’. 📸 @luckango Styling @lojusta Makeup @nana7se Hair @ububee8 Model @yangiiiy #dazedbeauty
