Question: so how silly do you feel now 2025 is almost over?
Me: (last pic)
Done so many things and also feel like I’ve made zero progress in a lot of other things. Thank you to everyone and everything that’s been a part of this, to friends old and new and every encounter in between, here and across the seas. Have a wild one out🫶

Still burning paper money/hell bank notes in Beijing - travelling between home and private clinic internship. I swear there is so much Sinophobia out there, how come you never ask questions when visiting other countries?

Stills archive: Farewell 《告别》 (2021) is a short film about a young woman attending her grandmother’s funeral online. Because of China’s zero covid policy, it was difficult for many people living overseas to take care of, or visit their loved ones. Although the guilt and pressure of leaving home in pursuit of an academic education, career or better life have existed before, the consequences of leaving weigh heavy in times of global crises. Farewell depicts the funeral etiquette of the ethnic minority of the Hui (回族) - a Muslim minority in China that is often falsely grouped with Han Chinese. Derived from predominantly Arabic and Persian peoples that mixed with locals and other central Asian tribes, the Hui have their distinct religious and cultural practices, though in many parts, these are waning.
Thanks to Xin for involving me in this project, and giving me the opportunity to connect to my Hui roots.

Full bloom, full chaos, full heart. Encouraging myself to be less polished, less perfect, shortening my mind/materialisation distance to just go at it.

I wish for more time. To practice, to craft, to indulge in sounds. Been listening to a lot of drums and strings from China and India. Pipa, Veena, Sitar… names that sound like old gods or stars beyond our galaxy. I would love to spend a lifetime just watching people in meditation crafting these instruments, beginning with the picking of trees and of wood (some pipas take 20 years to make), and another lifetime just listening and watching the peaceful trance of people playing. This one specifically is a sandalwood pipa.
Thank you for all the inspiration: Freny Nina Pavri, @mohibahauddindagar , Wu Ma. (Seriously listen to their music).
Performance video from a very special home concert hosted by @shila_behjat last year 🎶✨

Meet my favourite clay tea pot that is strictly reserved for pu er tea 🌿 Pu Er moves like a crazy Chinese aunt that knows how to knock you out with love and a punch. Pu er tastes of the earth in a strange and comforting way. Pu er warms inside out. The first wash of tea always goes out to my plants, and I drink from the second brew cause we serve momma first. Many greetings from my little tea cave that the people viewing my apartment kinda come out a little stunned and irritated from because yea, I dedicated a whole half ass room to tea, Chinese instruments, oracle books, herbs, and fun cards.
That’s it, I got nothing more to say today than appreciate your tea and take a break from social media while you’re at it. These days people like to feel self-righteous especially in the West, and I’ve been dealing with it by getting high on tea and dreaming of times where we all just admit that we don’t get it all right all the time, that we don’t always know what would be best, and that we might be wrong about everything we believe to be right because guess what, we are only offered perspectives. Perhaps our best chance for peace lies in confessing this to one another. It seems much better than continuing on the path of self-righteousness, moral superiority and separation. Unless you want to keep repeating history?

Autumn walks and oak trees. This was way too long ago @gretutka
Still trying to figure out the book of changes through poetry, still friends, still here, and of course involuntarily voluntarily and indecisively still moving in all directions and witnessing others doing the same 🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌚

It’s live! We’re excited to share the trailer for our feature-length documentary that takes on our world’s individual, social, and environmental challenges from two distinct perspectives. It follows the journey of the unlikely friendship between Arregoces, a young indigenous Kogi from the mountains of Colombia, and Lucas, a German author and social entrepreneur.
Gratitude to @paua.life for extending the warm invitation to the Kogi, bringing forth an invaluable opportunity for a vital cultural exchange in the heart of Paris.
