It came down to the final Stage and the @wiliervittoria team 🇮🇹 fought with everything they had but it just wasn’t enough.
@lucabraidot and @simoneavondetto rode with tactical finesse and incredible strength all week. It looked as though the Italian pairing were going to make the step up from their first performance that they came here to do, and they came oh so close, the closest margin between 2nd and 1st on GC in Cape Epic history, in fact.
Simone and Luca, well done 🤝🤝 We hope to have you back to fight once again 🏆

Queen stage. We had to earn this one.
A tough start forced Luca and Simone to hustle back to the front group. A dropped chain for Simo, then a crash in the final.
Nothing went our way.
But we stayed in it, kept pushing when it mattered most.
In the end, we turned it around.
