For the next Square print sale of @magnumphotos , I’ve selected a special image from the Aristocrats series that has never been released before. It features Celia in character, captured during the summer of 2016.

Ingmar Bergman Cuaderno de Trabajo I 55-74

(…) “this exhibition focuses on a different layer of the project—the constellation of materials that informed Agony in the Garden. Through a curated selection of reference images, sketches, notes, and visual studies, visitors are invited to explore the foundations of Ribeira’s process: the intersection between intuition and research, image and thought, gesture and form.
To accompany the show, Kominek and Lúa Ribeira present a limited edition of five books, conceived as an extension of this reflective space. Each book revisits the reference side of Agony in the Garden, proposing a dialogue between process and image, and inviting viewers to look beyond the finished photograph toward the intricate act of its making”
