DARREN KIRWAN - CRÓNÁN - 14 NOVEMBER
We’re really excited to be highlighting Darren Kirwan for this Fridays Crónán event at Common Knowledge. Darren is a Clare based sound and light artist who creates immersive performances using sound, light and salvaged materials
He’ll be performing alongside Natalia Beylis, Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani, and a closing DJ set from Willie Stewart
Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani is a musician and sound artist whose work explores identity, heritage and belonging through voice and field recordings. Their project Hālā – Portals to Home draws on their Irish and Iranian roots. Zahra has worked with Common Knowledge over the past two years as artist in residence and workshop host and is currently on a short Ireland tour based around this performance.
Natalia Beylis is a musician and sonic storyteller working with multi-instrumental layers, field recordings and textured sound worlds. She has released over 40 albums, with her work shaped by the details of her surroundings, from birdsong to creaking trees and rainfall.
Willie Stewart is a Leitrim-based musician and sound artist, and the founder of Nyahh Records. He brings together experimental and traditional influences, and his DJ sets blend wide-ranging music into a distinctive and atmospheric flow.
Crónán is part of our Heritage in Action programme, working with artists who are engaging with tradition, heritage and the natural world in new and exploratory ways.

✖ BOOCH BAR w/ @lu_fermentation ✖
For the event at The Factory, we are experimenting with an alcohol-free bar.
We promise a quirky and independently-sourced selection of drinks.
We are psyched to partner with Lú Fermentation, a craft kombucha company from Co. Clare who's range of booch will be available exclusively on the night. Running our bar will be Phoebe and Hedda of The Central in Manorhamilton, they'll also hook you up with an offering of fruity sodas and soft drinks.
And if your missing your hooch, our late parties in Furey's and Lillies will of course have all your liquor needs.
Meet the suppliers! - Lúnasa Fermentation @lunasa_fermentation
“Lúnasa Fermentation is a food and drinks production business, dedicated to the exploration of fermentation methods from around the world. We are very happy to supply our kombucha and ginger beer to Dolly’s in Liscannor which is located just 2 and a half miles from our nano brewery.”
- Darren (founder, owner and the guy with kombuchas in slide 2)
We sell Lúnasa kombucha chilled at Dolly’s. Perfect when you want a cool, fresh and healthy drink :)
