This is a mixed shelf of archival artefacts from various Ranch residency exchanges and speculative meanwhile moments. It doesn’t really exist yet only here @BetweenPeople ‘In Shape’ exhibition until next Friday the 27th Feb.
A wee collection.
The postcards are from the COVID sessions when we were all locked away in our respective rooms with limited views, human experience and travel restrictions.
It was the exchange of physical thoughts and ideas that mattered.
The 3d object is recent. The setting is in a meadow near the edge of the land. A speculative archive hopefully made from a fridge lorry container to contain these objects and many others to share and invite little performative events however impossible they may sound - until spring arrives.
Postcards received from:
@ah.meg@tooltoyprojects ,
@niall_healy1@charissaluciaturner@annemariepiscaer
Postcard replies: cherry juice drawings by KKotov.
The furniture piece under the tablecloth we are quite chuffed with. A temporarily unused shelf and offcuts from the recycle bin at UEL wood workshop. Heartfelt thank you.
Thank you also to @dom_zxy & Niall for the photos.
We are in lovely company of 40 artists in this group show. Thanks for having us.
Some winter images from earlier in January. Its taken some time for cameras to thaw, not really, but it take some some time for batteries to turn back on, shutters to open and close….
This was a research trip + check in on projects & as ever the weathering, to listen to the still yet sonorous landscape alongside some perhaps slightly shamanic formations.
The blue broom is being introduced here as a kind of drawing device, cleaning, sweeping, uncovering, revealing, or plain just being a walking stick. Glad to have it back. A daily ritual.
It snowed like in the ‘old days’ with lowered temperatures- a good sign that perhaps this winter will be a cold enough to rebalance the habitat ecosystem for the coming seasons at least for this new year.
Some images are a bit more picturesque: still and frozen flurry, others the revealed layers of ice: water and snow + other ramblers: weird and wonderful forms merging with projects by Ranchers in winter gear. Some with said everyday broom some without. And of course the moon @88 % brightness after the Wolf full moon of the 3rd January.
Other projects in varying order:
_‘Sutartine’ Maegan Icke / Tool/Toy Project, still spinning ever so slowly, @flurry speeds
_The bridge (V1 RNice, C Wu 2011, V2 J Adjei 2023) swept
_Bridge 3a at Beaver pond (a plank laid 2023) swept and used by all
_The Ant Ranch (W Stachowiak 2025) will need some further repair in the summer
_Window Lashes (FFathi 2023)
Painting (G Bills 2025)
_Laundry line/volleyball ‘net’ (RBrassi, J Bartlett 2025) & a temporary Foundry v2 for ‘the Great Aestii Empire (VJokubaitis 2019)
Roof curling in on ‘a Different point of view’ (D Seepal 2022)

Wishing warm greetings for the New Year from a snowy, still & slightly chilly landscape.
Su Naujiais Metais.
Thank you for everyones support this year. With heartfelt gratitude. Looking forward to what the next year may bring. All the very best.
Our final few hours before dismantling the exhibition today bit by bit from 1pm. Stop in if you are in the neighborhood. Credits and some documentation to follow int he next weeks. Thank you again everyone, too many to mention for support, help and thoughts for this moment.
An invitation to join us for a somewhat larger exhibition of our remote activities from this summer's residency session in Lithuania. This event is also traditionally the launch of the 'proof' publication made by and with participants, with a few artifacts and films + some bits in-between. A proof indeed. Our gathering 2025 temporarily swelled the population of our little hamlet which upon our leaving quite quickly returned its paths and frequencies to its more usual non-human customers.
Heartfelt thank you to Between People Gallery at UEL for hosting us this year. We look forward to seeing you there.
