Our last day in Tucson included a visit to the Picture Rocks Petroglyphs and one more scenic drive through the Tucson Mountains via Gates Pass. The skies were a beautiful blue today. We’ve had a wonderful week exploring the beautiful landscape here.

Today’s adventures took us to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Here are some of the shots from our visit. After leaving here, we went and feasted at Cracker Barrel. It felt a little strange not being home cooking today.

Today was an absolutely breathtaking adventure! We drove up the Sky Island Scenic Byway. It was a 27-mile drive that began in a desert landscape (~3,000 ft in altitude) and ended in a northern forest ecosystem (9,000 ft in altitude).

It’s been way too long since I went out to photograph the beautiful birds in my yard. We have two different seed feeders, two peanut feeders, and a hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds have always been elusive when I’m out, but not today! Got several good shots of the beautiful ruby-throated hummingbird that stopped by. He sipped at the feeder for a minute, and then went and perched up in the branches of one of our mimosa trees.
