NERD STUFF -
Mix Bus - Using the
@metrichaloaudio MixHead which my buddy
@coupeaustin recommended for my mix bus and this thing is golden.
@mix_carson and
@makebelievestudio did such a stellar job with this and its truly a glue of all glues as far as bussing goes. I also love their Sontec EQ! Touch of clipping from the legendary
@sir_audio_tools a tried and true in my mix bus.
Vocals - The most important thing, Amelie did such a stellar job with lyrics and melody that I couldn’t possibly give her anything less than the best production for it. A lot of country style harmonies. Using the
@purafiedaudio VU Compressor 1176 always with the
@uaudio Pultec doing some 8K shelf for a nice bit of air.
Drums and Bass - My Drum Compression is always the
@purafiedaudio LED Compressor doing the
@nerdentine style compression but I use it in parallel and then the
@uaudio API 2500 comp for overall Drum Buss glue. Bass is a split channel of
@arturia_official Mini V3 synth for the sub and then a picked finger bass with a HPF at 100hz just to get that mid grunt and finger tone.
Guitars - Majority of compression and glue comes from my actual best friends
@purafiedaudio , the VU Compressor is my go to for all things 1176 and 3A style compression with the
@uaudio Studer adding a good bit of vibe.
Pads - Loved making the pads for these, majority are my
@behringer Synth and an
@arturia_official Juno. Bit of
@soundtoys Microshift for width to not clash with vocals and
@valhalladsp for air verb and vibe
