That moment when you're just going about your business, and you come across a scene right out of your WIP.... Shatternight is coming out this fall! Get ready for found family, sapphic pining, a kick-ass trans mom, giant monsters, and a beautifully haunting post-apocalyptic setting. Love, Liv and Sterling

When I tell people I'm a writer, one of the most common questions I get goes something like this: How do you write a book? or, What is it like writing a book? My favorite answer is this: It's like eating an elephant. One bite at a time. Of course, I would never actually eat an elephant (we're both vegans!), but the idea of small, consistent steps sums it up pretty perfectly. Writing a book is setting achievable goals every week, and then achieving them again and again until the whole thing is complete. Before I met Sterling, I'd never finished anything I started writing. But now, I'm a strong believer in the power of consistent work and improvement. We can accomplish so much just one bite at a time! Love, Liv

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE MOST AMAZING BUSINESS AND WRITING PARTNER IN THE WORLD!!! 🥰🎂🎉🎈 Today is Liv's birthday, and I am THRILLED to know her and am SO glad she was born! Liv and I started working together in 2020 and our business has been one of the most thrilling, exasperating, amazing things I've ever been a part of. Our communal love of inclusive, diverse fantasy and our dedication to producing the best possible stories out there makes working with this lady a pleasure EVERY DAY! Even on her birthday :) Happy Birthday Dearest!

😰How you are (unintentionally) hurting Indie Authors 🫤 And how you can fix it! 🎈 It's rare I get on a soapbox here, as I'm typically busy writing, editing, and handling all the ins and outs of running a small, queer, inclusive, diverse publishing company, but I had an interaction recently that got me thinking 🤔 Why is it that so many folks say they support queer, or diverse, or indie, but ... In the end, if the proof is in the pudding, then why is there no pudding? 🍮(Or flan?) I think it might have to do with perception... I'm just one reader, one listener, one commenter, one person... What impact can I really make? What does it matter if I don't post that review I promised? What does it matter if I got the copy of the book, and then never even mentioned it on my TBR ? ☹️ The thing is... That mentality might be true for BIG companies, who have THOUSANDS of folks promoting, reviewing, hyping. Who have big bucks to pay for all these ads and reviewers etc. But for Indie Authors and Small Publishing Companies? YOUR voice DOES matter. Absolutely. 😇🥰 So when you decide to support an Indie author, and then their work doesn't jive for you, treat them with integrity and honor. They're literally waiting for your one review to come out. They're on pins and needles. So when you come to a book you don't like, just let the author know, don't leave them hanging. And when you decide you DO want to participate, do it with ENTHUSIASM! Even if your pile got big and your week got totally crazy-- post late, post chaotically. Just share! Share your support, share your voice, share your respect. 🥰😍 Little publishing companies and indie authors around the world-- we're sadly overlooked and blown off. We're treated SO disrespectfully (sometimes) it's wild. 🤯 Liv and I have had professionals and hobbiests alike treat us like we don't matter, and then accuse us of not being professional when we ask for basic levels of accountability. 😧 So if you want to support indie authors and queer and diverse and inclusive and small publishing, this is how you can: 😎Communicate 👏🏼Share 🥰Treat with Respect 🤩Be Enthusiastic!
