Shout out to our incredible teen apprentice, Tori, who is graduating from high school this week!
We met Tori through a class at Pueblo High, one of our Safe Routes partnerships made possible by the City of Tucson. From there they applied to be a bike mechanic apprentice with us at LSA – an initiative supported by the Alan Harris Foundation.
After training, Tori began working alongside seasoned mechanics to provide free bicycle repair at outreach events, including our Fall and Spring Cyclovia. They also stepped into a leadership role with the cycling class — training new students on signaling and communication, helping select routes, offering mechanic support, and often leading rides. They approach everything with total curiosity and engagement, welcoming in new people, asking the hard questions, providing creative ideas, bringing a great sense of humor and excellent fashion. We sincerely wish Tori the very best in all future endeavors. Happy Graduation, Tori!
What a bitter sweet time saying farewell to our amazing interns! They have contributed to the work of LSA in big ways this past year. Shoutout to all the effort, heart, skill and joy they bring—we’re gonna miss you all!
Safe Routes and Advocacy Intern America has been sharing her time and skills with the LSA crew this year, and we couldn't be better for it 🧡America has been part of LSA's work ever since taking part as a student in our first Walking School Bus! Now she works with our team to support after-school bike clubs, coordinate with volunteers, and helped to lift up our Downtown Hub at Spring's Cyclovia 💪 Thank you, America, for being so wonderful to work beside! 🎉
Tucson! You look good on car-free open streets.🤩
A big thank you to everyone who came out to ride, walk, bike, and enjoy the route from Downtown to Amphi.
We can’t wait to see you at the next Cyclovia!
We did it 🎉
Because of you, we raised $21,508 this Arizona Gives Day in support of safer, more connected streets.
Every gift, share, and show of support made this possible—and we are so grateful for this community.
This isn’t just a fundraising milestone. It’s a reflection of the people behind it.
Thank you for showing up, cheering us on, and believing in this work.
💛 The LSA Team
