This week the LSAD Teacher Education Department Art Education Conference & Exhibition featured a round-table led by Dr Robert Kilroy which explored a pedagogical turn in art practice examining how art practice and teaching can be rooted to the materiality of the land. The discussion had LSAD Initial Teacher Education staff reflect on their response to site work undertaken for the conference articularly the site of the Burren and Shanakyle Bog. Staff had already curated their findings for an exhibition held in LSAD the previous week. A variety of impressive 2D, 3D and digital work was presented by Brendan Egan, Bairbre Geraghty, Edel Hogan, Shelagh Honan, Deborah Mc Donagh, Ciarán Power, Brendan Roddy, and Lucina Russell.
