Its always fun when you open the kiln and get a surprise-i am forever grateful to Lee Granberg and her friends for gifting me glass-i thought i was painting on white a piece if Lee’s white but it turns out it was a gold ruby!!! As luck has it-i was also firing a piece of Anne Wongs with some frit so with the 1250 hold i unknowingly struck the pink-today the glass gods smiled on me! #artheals #bullseyestainedglass #glasspainting #batareaart #bayareaglass

Class project from workshop with the brilliant Derek Hunt. I got to try tracing with a “resevoir brush”…i have been using a rigger so it was fun to try something new. Lesson two was matting and badgering…which was my inspiration for dragging myself over to the UK….think i was using too much gum and not badgering long enough….excited to try back home with more water (and my new brush….) and then we got to my absolute fav technique : stippling! As my hero Gertrude Stein wrote: “happy is the way to color the grey!” #glasspainting #glassstain #stainedglass #bayareaglass
